I believe Ian and Co. may actually be working on the lighting in Madden this year. Ian had posted a thread in MLB 09 The Show's forum, giving it high praise. That game has incredible lighting.
Ian even said "After a few of us got our hands on it, we have forced our entire Madden design team to go through the game, take notes, and come up with ideas that could apply to us."
That leads me to believe that they may be improving the lighting in Madden.
