    Anyone do this?

Since getting this game on release date, I have started Spring Training and played the entire Spring schedule. Tonight will be my last Spring Training game. I refuse to play at any real major league stadium untill I start my regular season Franchise. I also will not play using the Reds regular season uniforms untill the start of the Season. I am also holding off playing online as I dont want to ruin the experience of seeing the real stadiums. What a Dork!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cant wait for Knights Rosters as this is when i will start my season.

I agree, but with this being my first year with The Show, i had to play in some MLB parks so I could see what all the hype about was....

Good thing you don't play as the Yankees then. Their last 2 spring training games are played in Yankee Stadium vs the Cubs.

Yep, I do the same. I love playing Spring Training games anyway because of the laid back manner and getting your whole squad the necessary innings. That is a challenge in itself.

Spring Training games are like coaching a junior varsity game, lots of playing time for everyone and who cares who wins.

im torn , after my last spring training game, ill just play RTTS. How many of u are gonna wait to see if the game is patched before u start ur franchise. My goal was to open the season on Sunday night April 5th, it doesnt look like Knights rosters will be done by then. I just dont want to start the season and have a patch come and have to start a new season.

Any surprises from ST? Or does your team look like you thought it would before ST? I never tried ST I always skipped it, but I always wondered if their was some lower rated guys that I might hit better with than the starters I went with.

Good idea.. that's sounds like a really good way to build up excitement for a season. I would do this as well, but I just wouldn't be able to get over the inaccurate rosters. Personally, the best part of Spring Training is getting a chance to evaluate the prospects of the organization, and giving certain prospects the chance to win a spot on the Major League roster.

The fake player names and crappy ratings for prospects would take away from me enjoying the experience. The only way I could enjoy doing this would be with Knight's rosters, but those don't come out 'til ST is over. And by the time it's over I'm only in the mood to start the regular season.

Though if I'm able to make it into my second season, I'll definitely give this a try. The only problem is by the time I finish my first season I'm usually into so many other games that I don't want to waste any time in ST.. maybe this year will different though.

Yeah. I was surprised it was like that myself.

Brett Gardner (NYY) for me was a beast in ST. Hit something like 7 HR and batted well over .400
Now my season started and he can't get on base if A-Roid picked him up and placed him there.

I am definitely going to start into my Franchise as soon as I finish ST. I look at ST as a great way to get familiar with the nuances of the players on my squad, and to adjust sliders.

However, I always wind up not finishing my baseball franchises, as it seems like it overlaps into football season and I get diverted. A big part is that I wait too long to start up my "regular" franchise.

This year I am going to start up and if a patch drops that is important enough to start over, I will do so and simulate up until my record and stats are close to where was previously.
