So how do injuries / minors work?

I was going to start my franchise next week as the Yankees (I usually pick a poor team and build them up but I think it will be fun being a power house and instantly nabbing a big time free agent when a player gets injured for two months) and after this roster update I noticed A-Rod in the minors. I get it, he's injured, but what happens when I start my franchise? Is he going to be injured or just sitting there in the minors until I recall him? I like to stay as close to opening day rosters as I can, but if he is healthy in game I'm not going to let him rot in the minors for 2 months...

its stupid how they do the updates

they put players in the minors if they are injured, to simulate them not being able to play in exhibition mode

you can just call him up when you start your franchise
