Position Coaches in Madden 10... yay or nay?

Would you guys like to see position coaches in Madden 10 or future installments of the game? So if you draft a rookie with raw talent but needs some guidance to be the next great back maybe you'll keep an eye out for lets say....Ollie Wilson (chargers running back coach) to get your RB some substantial attribute increases over the next few years. As opposed to a running back coach who isn't as good as Wilson and the attribute increases won't be as substantial.

    What do you guys think?

Almost exactly whats in HC09 already. If not the exact same idea.

Its more of whether this idea will fit in with the rest of the progression system/ potential/ philosophies/ schemes thing going in HC09.

I would love to see something along these lines implemented. Great idea nuckles2k2!

Yea I know the HC guys will be familiar with this...this is thread is more for the folks who never played Head Coach. I don't think adding position coaches would throw off things that much, if at all.

HC had them? Well hopefully once they get franchise up and running(you know, not stinky anymore) this will be one of the ideas they borrow from HC and put into Madden.

yep I agree...this doesn't have to be in Madden 10, but if it's all about immersion then users should have to sign more than head coaches and coordinators.

waste of resources. I know I am the biggest proponent of noting how resources shouldn't be an issue to EA, but this isn't warranted.

If I gave you a 32 team quiz of position coaches right here on the spot, you wouldn't pass it.

So...because you don't know the guys by name means they're not a vital part of any NFL team? I bet most people on this forum couldn't name both the offensive and defensive coordinators on all 32 teams but we all know how important they are.

I think it helps when I see my defensive backs playing better and making more plays on the ball when I upgrade my DB coach in HC 09. If we're talking about building on franchise for this year and years to come then why not add position coaches? If you think that the head coach and coordinators are the only one's responsible for the growth and development of players in the NFL then you're mistaken.

If they don't add in actual position coaches, then they need to add in FIFA 09's staff upgrades. It is a good system and if implemented correctly can be very helpful. The system would let you upgrade your offensive, defensive and special teams staff. Also, you would be able to upgrade your fitness team which can increase the stamina for each player in-game and between games. There is a stadium upgrader to add seats into the stadium. There is a scout to look at other players from around the league. Wow I just got an idea, the potential stats should be hidden, then you send your scout out and let them figure out ratings from players you want around the league just like in FIFA and NBA 2k. Also, there is a team negotiator for signing players from other teams that could be very helpful for offseason signings. Implementing FIFA's staff upgrades could actually be a VERY realistic and helpful addition to Franchise Mode if there is not position coaches.

Yay if they have an affect on the team nay if they dont do diddly squat. You can have the worst coaches in the league and still go undefeated.

                              I say yes.

Head Coaches and Coordinators aren't the only ones who affect the way a player performs/developes. HC 09 does a great job with this. Also, Position Coaches eventually become coordinators, and even Head Coaches- so this needs to be in Madden.
                              Madden 11' Franchise should be

Madden '10 "foundation" + depth of Head Coach 09 = my dream franchise mode.
