Need help downloading the patch

Hi I got this game in March and I think it is a GREAT game. Then I learned that there are some bugs and there is a patch to fix it. But everytime I entered the game it never tells me to download it like in other games. So I went to the online part of the menu to download it myself, but I couldn't find a patch download there, the only thing is the roster update. Is the patch in the roster update or is it somewhere else? I have a PS3 and I use wireless connection.

delete all your saves and anything related to that game then put the disc in make sure your logged into xbox live or psn then once you put game in it will prompt saying there is an update for the game.

why would you have to delete your saves?
If that's the case I'll never download the patch.

Isn't there a way to do it without losing all your info?

well more than likley he has the patch all ready and just dont know it if he is not getting it there has to be something corupt deleating all existance might work best way to find out is to attempt to play online because in order to do so you have to be up to date if it allows you to do so then your up to date.

You don't have to delete your saved data, but you do have to clear the hard drive cache.

I know this because I didn't delete anything at all, I did just what I said.

When I tried play online it told me to download the newest roster, then I was able to play(although no one was in the lobby). So does it mean that the patch was a part of the roster update?
