Finally I broke down and got this game. I have been a 2k guy forever. I really love the gameplay it's so much more realistic than the 2k games. But I can't hit for the life of me and I'm on rookie. I mean I hit the ball but it's either a chopper or a lazy pop fly. I have played three games and I have ten hits total. Is there a secret or something i'm not doing?

Re: Tips on hitting? PLEASE!!!!
Step 1 - Be patient
Step 2 - Always guess fastball (if you don't hear the ping than you know it will be offspeed)
Step 3 - Be patient
Step 4 - Look for pitch in one location and try not to pull the ball ... Waiting a split second longer will result in better contact
This game is ultra-realistic in that you have to wait for your pitch. The AI will throw to all zones, and many balls if you just wait...When you are ahead in the count the percentages increase that you will see fastballs....
Good luck...I say go to BATTING PRACTICE mode to try this out....What?Comment

Re: Tips on hitting? PLEASE!!!!
Everything that's been said so far...and this (which can't be overstated) - don't expect to hit well soon. This is a tough game to get respectable at, let alone master. But just know that the reward is well worth the wait, unless you like more of an arcade style baseball game.Comment

Re: Tips on hitting? PLEASE!!!!
to start off, don't worry about anything but the L stick and the swing button. If the ball is going low, push down on the stick when you swing. If it is high, press up etc. etc. Also turn down the pitch speed if you need to (in the slider section)My Fan Page http://theusualgamer.net/MyFanPage_Heelfan71.aspx
