Anyone here play on All Star default?

I think that this is the best level to play on. I get close to realistic stats as possible, with the exception of CPU pitch counts, but that's probably because I'm impatient at the plate. I've played 12 games so far and my record is 6-6. I've experienced all sorts of games from close, low scoring, blowouts and even a shutout. There seems to be a lot of variation here. I also noticed that homefield advantage and momentum are much more of a factor on this level as well.

This level offers enough of a challenge where I'm able to get great games without feeling like I'm either cheating or being cheated by the CPU.

I said this in another thread somewhere, but if you take the AI strike tendency slider down, it doesn't affect cards. And they throw balls all over the place with it at zero.

I agree, I'm having a blast with this game post patch on all star default, and I haven't touched one single slider. All of my games are challenging yet fun on all star no doubt about it.

really? I noticed that there little to no offense with the default all-star sliders. I played about 5 games with them and scores were always something like 1-0, 2-1, etc...neither team ever scored over 3 runs.

I've only played a handful of games, but I have had both high scoring and low scoring games. My last game Cleveland vs. Texas in Arlington was 11-7.

I found all-star to be the best for me. I've got a franchise going with the tigers and I get realistic results with the exception of a lot of home runs.

You know, I kind of feel the same way. I was always playing on All Star with my Pirates and have won some and lost some. If I can get the pitchers to throw more balls and be a little less aggressive, then it would be perfect for me.

What sliders would I change for this?

All star is a simdge too easy to get on a homerun tear.

Legend difficulty, with all star user hitting seems to provide a good balance for me.

CPU locates better, but the ball that I drive that is low and outside, ends up as double more often, instead of being driven out of the park as often as it is, with any guy with at least "ok" power.

Plus the CPU hitter is more challenging.

Re: Anyone here play on All Star default?

My problem with All-Star is that all of my hits are either highlight dives catches in the infield or a pop fly in the outfield. I know that hits are supposed to be harder, but I can't seem to land much of them at all. Of course, the CPU has no problems getting the hits. I try to boost human power, contact, and batting success but it does nothing. I don't want to mess with those sliders because I still want the cards. If I go down to Pro, it is way to easy.

Re: Anyone here play on All Star default?

I was using a custom slider set and I just wasn't getting enough offense, with tons of meekly hit balls, almost no power, etc. So I switched to default all-star. I hit 3 hr's my first game and it was very enjoyable! The best part was that all 3 hr's were on balls up and out over the plate, so I felt good in that I was able to punish mistakes and not pull 0-2 sliders on the outer half of the zone for an HR.

My only issue now is the CPU is back to swinging at everything again. With the sliders I tried before I was having the cpu hitters deep into counts, getting the cpu looking at strike 3 occasionally, etc. Now, anything close and they are hacking. I know there is a slider that helps this, but can anyone tell me what it is?

It is impossible to tone down the CPU fielding and raise the user hitting and still unlock cards....

I would lower the Batting Pitch Influence slider to 70 or less and lower the CPU fielder speed to 45 or 50.

Can you please explain how you hit to many homeruns on all-star? I am 10 games in and have only been able to get 2 homeruns.

I don't have too much trouble hittings HRs on All Star. The other day I was down two and hit back to back to back HRs with ARod, Tex and Matsui. You have to aim the left stick out and up. I did hit a HR with Jeter without touching the left stick.

                            +1

I also turn CPU Pitch Success down to like 15 and Pitch Speed up to 100.

I think the only problem I have playing on all star default is pitch speed. It just gets quicker. maybe I'll do legend :P. By being patient though I've gotten realistic pitch counts when I feel patient. both starters and relievers getting 70-60 pitches in. and both being done by the seventh or so.
