Re: Online Dynasty: First Look Video
Alright, taking a look at the improved statistics:
There are 7 QBs shown in the stats screen. A quick rundown:
Avg. QB Rating of Top 7 QBs: 184.4
Overall Completion % of Top 7 QBs: 68.7%
Yards per attempt of Top 7 QBs: 10.04
Touchdown rate: 10.0%
And, for comparison, the actual Top 7 QBs in 2008:
Avg. QB Rating: 171.6
Completion %: 67.6%
Yards per attempt: 9.26
Touchdown rate: 9.4%
The QBS are still a little too jacked up but it doesn't seem quite as bad as I recall in the past. The completion % and TD % aren't that far off, but the QB ratings are too high (probably too few INTs, which we can't see) and that yards per completion figure is pretty far out of whack.
Still, they're not totally insane numbers, although it would sort of depend on how many games they have played in that dynasty at that point for the overall yardage and TD figures."Hard work beats talent, when talent isn't working hard.”Comment

Re: NCAA Football 10 Video: Online Dynasty
I just do not get how FSU could possibly be an A+ team or even an A-. They haven't been A worthy for the last few years. This just leads me to believe that ratings will be inflated again like they have been for the past years. I was hoping they would follow in Madden's footsteps in lowering player ratings so that only elite players are in the 90s while solid, dependable starters are in the 80s.
For me this is something that has always annoyed me because when you start giving out lots of 90+ ratings there is nothing to differentiate the elite players from the good players. It is like in a dunk contest when judges give out a perfect 50 for a solid above average dunk and then the next player goes and does something spectacular that completely crushes the previous dunk yet they get the same score because you have all ready inflated what a 50 should be.
I wish Madden and NCAA worked more together because I really like the direction that Ian is taking Madden and wish that he was also doing this for NCAA. Instead I feel like NCAA is just the step child and is being overlooked. This is disappointing as I prefer college football over pro football by far.Comment

Re: Online Dynasty: First Look Video
I'm sure theres a few players nationwide that don't get noticed until they're in the playoffs making incredible plays. Imagine a guy from a good school doesn't start until he's a senior. Over the year he progresses fast and is able to become a real force in playoffs. People didn't know who he was going into the season but they took notice when he made big plays on the big stage.Ohio State Buckeyes | Carolina Panthers | Charlotte Hornets | Cincinnati RedsComment

Re: Online Dynasty: First Look Video
Compare the real world INT totals to the game and it's about double what we're seeing in this game.
You'll be lucky to find one starting QB in NCAA 09 each season who has a TD/INT ratio under 1. In college football, there are at least 20 starting QB's each year who throw more INTs than TDs.
INT's need to be toned down in the actual gameplay engine and hopefully the new WR/DB interaction helps.Comment

Could be b/c when u look at the rankings next to some teams Georgia is ranked #1 and as much as i love my dogs i know they won't be ranked #1 coming into this year game. lol. Also USC is ranked #4 and i know thats what they was ranked on 09 too.Don't mind me I'm just lurkingComment

I do agree about the TD/INT ratio though. EA always has every QB and their grandma throwing about 25+ TDs which is just silly. It's just off.
As for the actual gameplay, they obviously need to be toned down (again). It's gotten to the point that I feel guilty if I intercept the CPU QB. Then again, that is typically one of their few incompletions.Last edited by J-Unit40; 04-10-2009, 06:34 AM."Hard work beats talent, when talent isn't working hard.”Comment

Underwhelming. EA needs to hire me as a consultant. I'll take $5 an hour. I'll tell you every single thing you need to fix OD. Create-a-team isn't one of them.

Not really feeling the update. Fixing the bugs is to be expected IMO.
The 4* & 5* recruits that aren't available until the off-season is not a good idea. Even if you had reclassification those guys would get looks from some school.
So, has the CPU AI Recruiting already been addressed in another blog or video?Comment

ATH
One of the biggest problems I've had this year is the ATH position. All ATHs in 09 are either secondary players, or WRs. In real life, there are lots of different types of ATHs. Jumbo ATHs can play either line, other ATHs can play OLB, MLB, HB or FB, and finally there are fast ATHs that can play secondary or receiver. As it stands now, all athletes in the game can only play receiver or secondary. I'd really like to see this fixed.Comment

Re: ATH
Hmm...did anyone else notice the logo for the "Independents" conference during the custom conferences swap? Why is it called "Div I Independents"? Is this foreshadowing FCS teams?Comment
