AI issue: Ian please address this if you can

Ok, there is one thing that really ticks me off about the AI and there is no way to get around it. Calling audibles. About 75% of the time the CPU knows exactly what play you picked and then when you audible they switch their D to a D that will stop your audible. For example:

Lets say 2nd and goal ball on the 2. I call a goalline run play and as expected the CPU will call a goalline defense. The problem is as soon as I audible to a pass play the defense scrambles around into a formation that is completely pass coverage. Not that big of a deal because I can just quickly audible back to the run before they have time to set up right? Wrong. I audible back to a run and what do you know as soon as I press the button the defense runs back to goalline D to stop the run. I don't even have to be playing the Patriots and this happens.

How can the defense know exactly what I am running? I guess because the CPU is the 360 itself it knows everything. You cannot make the CPU know everything that will happen at that exact time it will happen, it needs some sort of human delay time to account for the fact that it is apart of the system and can cheat at anytime. You need to make something that keeps the CPU from knowing what you picked and what button you press.

There is no faking out a CPU because it knows what button you press as soon as you press it. It knows the difference between if you pump fake or actually press a receivers button and that needs to stop. I can't juke the CPU because it knows at the moment I pressed juke exactly which way I will go and at what time it needs to go for the tackle (most likely the big hit).

All I ask Ian or any other dev that reads this is that there needs to be an AI fix. The AI cannot know what you are doing at all times.

I notice that to. Ill see the safteys creeping up and immediatley call a fly route and the safteys immediatley go as far back as they can and I have 2 safteys covering my fly route.

Just edit your original post and then change the title from there.

                Who said nobody cares?

Im sure most fans would agree with you, but the "Hey Ian" threads are really old.

Actually, being that this is a good point, maybe you should PM this to Ian, and hopefully, he can get back to you and you can get back to us.

Yea I tried to change the title but I guess it won't change. Oh well, last time I pm'd Ian he didn't answer so w/e. I'll try but I doubt it will be addressed. I really hate how the AI knows exactly what I am doing.

This is a prime example of the All-Madden advantage the computer has. Also, it is funny when you use the playmaker tool to switch where you are running to the D will slide that way. However, if you "fake" a playmaker to the same side you are going there is no adjustment. Formation audible to a play action? Pass coverage D.

The only explination, and it isn't excuseable, is that the computer can't compensate for the active human brian and properly adjust to our changes so it just cheats to make up for that. One real solution is to rework the computer logic in general. Fixing blocking logic, how defenders cover zone, and so on.

Playing against the computer can be just as frustrating as against a cheese player becasue the computer has a track record of cheating you. Oh, did the computer need to pick up a 3rd and 7? Did it havet o make a check down pass becasue you had your zones locked up? Did it break two tackles and push forward on the 3rd tackle to get the first? Did the ball go through your player's hand via a collision detection problem when it really needed a TD to stay in the game? Did the ball go through your recivers hands/body the same way when you had a wide open TD to tie the game or take the lead? nah the computer doesn't cheat, it's just bad luck. That's it I'm just really bad at this game and computer, you are soooo good at it.

I agree on everything. The computer reacts perfectly to every audible you make. They also are "unfakeable" in the running game, all you can hope for is a broken tackle animation. I know a glitch spin move that would work against any human opponent, but the CPU gets an easy tackle against it every time.

Why because I put Ian in the title? Ugh, I tried to change it...if any mod comes on here can you just change the title to "AI issue for both Madden and NCAA that needs to be addressed" for me instead of just deleting the whole thing? Thank you.

And there is one thing that really ticks me off about people on the Madden Forum...the ones who don't read the rules. Especially when the rules say "READ BEFORE POSTING".

                          http://www.operationsports.com/forum...e-posting.html

Just because he doesn't write you back when you PM him, it doesn't mean he didn't read it. And just because you put "Ian" in the title, it doesn't mean he WILL read it. Just follow the damn rules, people. Is it that difficult?
