How many games do you play?
One issue I always have with Baseball games is the length of the season. I enjoy playing as many games as I can but don't have time for the whole season...How many games do you actually play vs. sim and how do you pick which ones are worth playing?"Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair or f&^$(*& beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back." - Deadwood

Re: How many games do you play?
I prefer to play all 162 games. Been that way since MLB 2K7. 2K9 is so much fun post patch I can't see myself doing anything else but playing the entire season. This is a great game.Originally posted by jim416You are the 2k Police. :)Comment

Re: How many games do you play?
im doing 104. 52 was too short.
I know I wont play all 162 games, and I dont want to sim. I want the stats to be all earned by me.
104 is a happy medium for me.Comment

Re: How many games do you play?
I play one game of each series switching up starters each series, so I am not using the same pitcher over and over again.Goozex

Re: How many games do you play?
I do the same thing. I play the 2nd game of each series (be it a 2, 3 or 4 game series). This way I can finish a 162 game season, but still play 50+ games, with a good mix of starting pitchers. I've done this for as long as I can remember in baseball games.Comment

Re: How many games do you play?
I'm with you OP that 162 games gives way to having to sim some. However, w/ MLB2K9 I haven't had this much fun playing a console baseball game since MVP.
I've played a lot more games through May of my chise than I had anticipated. Altogether after about 50 games, I'd say I've played 40 give or take 1 or 2. I would like to be moving at a bit of a faster pace though. I've proved to be ineffective pitching w/ Jamie Moyer and Chan Ho Park on my Phillies staff, and Rich Hill on my O's staff.
I'll likely sim those games from here on out as the CPU has just as good a chance of winning as I do.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

Re: How many games do you play?
I play a whole 162 game season every year with the Reds. I have since triple play 98 or 97 I cant remember. Anyway I have the stats written down for every season I have played. (I know I am a nerd!)
This year I am also controlling my other favorite team the Dodgers and have been playing every other one of their games.ND Season Ticket Holder since '72.Comment

Re: How many games do you play?
Here is a suggestion for those that do not want to play all 162 games. Since MVP '05 the way I have done this is to start off the season by playing the first 5 games for the 5 man starting rotation. So after the first 5 games, you have gotten to pitch with each of your starters. Now, after the 5th game, you are back to your #1 starter. Play that game again, and then SIM though the 5 games after that so the next game you play is with your #2 starter. Then SIM 5 more games so that you pitch your #3 guy. And so on through the season. This way, you get to see more of the teams, you do not get stuck pitching the same guy, and the season moves along... You end up playing about 31 games, and you get to make sure you are pitching with each starter, and adjusting for injuries, and for milestone games you might want to play that one as opposed to to simming it. So, if you have a guy who is going for his 20th win, or some other important game, you can play any of those throught the season.

Re: How many games do you play?
I have always played every game, I usually played a 81 game season, but w/ MLB 2k9 I opted for the 104 game season. On basketball I always play the 54 game option and struggle to finish but, as long as I can get the game to stop freezing on me I will knock out this by July.Gaming hard since 1988
I have won like 25 Super Bowls in Madden so I am kinda a big deal.Comment

Re: How many games do you play?
With my 162 game franchise, I sim the final game of each series. That gives me a good mix of my SP's, while allowing me to move through the season more quickly. It also takes away the temptation for me to cherry pick which games to sim (if I did that, I would never sim on a day King Felix is scheduled to pitch). This gives me a pretty good mix.Comment

Re: How many games do you play?
Every 4th game for me. So my starters go 1, 5, 4, 3, 2 and then back to 1. I get to use all my starters and don't get burnt out playing too many games.Comment
