Why does this game take so long to load?

It takes like 20 seconds or so just for the Sony Entertainment logo to come up, then another 25 or so to get to the main menu then another min or so depending on the stadium to finally play the game. Other games like COD4 and WAW load super quick and have way more going on than this game. The demo I played of MLB2k loaded up super quick. Why aren't the devs trying to get the load times down to a minimum?

It take forever to load, but the way i looks at it is its worth it once it does laod. I would whether have a game take forever to load n be awesome then having a game load in 5 secs and be crappy.

but WAW is fast man, im on there playing in less then a minute.

I know, right. It's a good time for me to get a drink, smoke a cig, and get ready for the game. After all, I can't do those things while playing.......lol.....

But honestly, I guess it's because there's so much to load....all the teams, players, stances, stadiums, etc.......

I know the devs can get the load times shorter if they want. It's just a matter of them wanting to try to or not.

Why would they want to purposely aggravate people? A load time of 20 seconds, and then another 20, we're probably talking about a minute out of our lives, lol.

Think about it though, Jim...an average of about 100-150 times you'll load up the game this year...That's a lot of seconds that could've been spent volunteering at the soup kitchen.

It's not them. It's Blu-Ray. It's a slower loading format. MUCH slower than DVD-ROM.

Seriously though, it takes maybe a minute to load up then you're in for a good hour long game... How is THIS an important issue?

62 seconds from the time I turn it on, hit X and keep hitting X until the press START window appears. Some of my farts are longer than that.
