        That's bush league.

Prince salutes Reed on a great play, than Julio throws at him.

I didn't know Reed could get up like that. Unbelieveable catch.

And yes, **** Julio. That's a punk move.

I'm going to go ahead and throw the inevitable question out there. When will Marmol become the closer? After only seeing Kevin Gregg a few times this season I can already tell that he just isn't going to work in the closer's role. I understand Pinella wants to use Marmol more often and in a setup role, but come on. Marmol is destined to be a closer. When he is on, he is lights out. Kevin Gregg is absolutely terrible. He took a four-run lead and brought the winning run to the plate with runners on second and third. Hopefully he is out before it costs the Cubs too many games.

yeah...i really thought the cubs could go with Soriano and Hoff in the corners and Fukudome and Johnson splitting time in center, with Kosuke playing in RF, too.

i would have liked some real help in the pen and some insurance for the starting pitching...

As for Marmol....dude CANNOT be the closer. How would they even get to him? What they are doing with Marmol now is exactly what needs to be done...aside from the over use. 1+ inning, usually in pressure and against the heart of the lineup.

                8th---Braun, Fielder, Hardy
                9th--Hart, Scrub, Scrub

Who would you want Marmol to face?

                Closer hype = please, stfu.

Gregg may not be the closer, but moving Marmol there does nothing. I say give Guzman a shot if Gregg continues to crumble, or maybe even Samardzija.

Marshall is supposed to be #5 starter, but he came out of the pen again today...if that keeps up, he has to be a closer candidate, too.

My guess is that we might see Sheets in a Cubs uni if he can still pitch. He is still technically a FA.

So who's gonna get their average up to .100 first? Bradley or Lee?

                  Kevin Gregg...looking good buddy!

Good think we got some other players picking up the slack. And I love Reed Johnson.

I'm gonna guess Bradley, Lee just seems to love that groundball too much. Unless Bradley gets injured...

Anyways, I agree with the people that say Marmol should still be our set up man. Mainly because he can get out of those big jams, and Gregg cannot. To add to that, we do need to get Gregg out of the closer positon though, maybe off the roster. He doesn't seem like he can handle getting people out all too well.

Marshall is coming out of the pen because the Cubs haven't needed their 5th starter yet this year. Because of all the early season off days.

that is what i thought...heard it about the first go-round, but was like "Huh?" when he came in against the Brewers Sunday night.

man, was that Homeplate Ump all over the place today (monday) or what? it was pretty awful...but went well for Lilly...how long can this guy keep it up? From journeyman to solid, consistent contributor.

i am not sure what Miles brings us that Cedeno didnt...the former is so woeful at the plate it doesn't matter.

Just like last year, the cubs are walking all over the place...what is it? 17 in the last 3 games...i hope it continues.

Fukudome is seeing the ball well.
Takashi Saito is a better closer than JJ Putz.

Yep...I hope Lous keeps him in the three hole for now, even when A-Ram comes back from injury...I love Derrick's glove but I cant stand seein him bat third anymore.

Hopefully with this platoon he can last the entire season. Because this is just about exactly how he started the season out last year. And you know what happened after the All Star break.

Baseball is all about making adjustments whether it be pitchers or hitters. Last year Fukudome started off hot but when pitchers figured him out he did not adjust to how they were pitching him. Hopefully he learns from last year and we see him be a consistent hitter all year. Because if he is hitting and with the patience he shows, our lineup looks that much better. I love the way the team has started a little worried by the bullpen but it's too early in the season to hit the panic button.
