So then you were here when we were promised much of the same with the Ballpark in Arlington. I remember that it was going to bring a whole heap of a lot of business to the area. It was going to fill up those business offices in Center Field. It was going to bring a whole flux of money to the local economy.
Of course, none of that happened. The businesses around the area have flopped, only 20% of those offices are occupied, and that economy has been hit the hardest. Now we are supposed to believe that Jerry Jones is going to make this all better? I'm not surprised Arlington fell for this statement when they were given the same bs.
These events you talk about will only increase traffic and crime in the area, and our police department will not be able to handle it. The businesses that are promised will not survive past the first five years, and our transportation system (what little we have of it) will be worse off. That half of a percent would have been better spent on improving roads, or actually getting some sort of mass transit into this city. The Cowboys only make this worse.
It sounds like you have left Arlington, and I don't blame you. This summer, I will be attending the University of North Texas, and I won't have to deal with the stuff this city has been feeding us. I feel bad though for the residents of the town though, because out of all the people in the deal, they will suffer the most.
