I think the general gist of people just think it's hard to dictate the quality of the game after a community day.Like I wrote, I'm only seeing this for the first time today/tonight.
My eyes hurt reading most of the posts.
Answer to two points raised in this thread:
1. You guys are only being positive because you got an early look at the game.
There isn't one guy who went to that event who didn't appreciate the opportunity. To say otherwise would be an outright lie. That said, if the game sucked or was Madden 09 service pack 2 ... you'd know it by now in this thread.
And I am insulted that you think some of the guys at the event are such fanboys that they can't be objective. I have never kissed Ian's behind on these boards and don't intend to start now. If something about the game ticks me off, Ian will be the first guy to know (and did ... at this event).
I remember after the Madden '08 community day vividly. How this was a "whole new game". The responsiveness was unprecedented and how it would blow the doors off anything we've ever seen. We all know how that turned out. I do think by sending quality guys (The Watcher, BezO, LBz), this community day was less about hype and more about feedback. Nonetheless, you can't blame anybody for taking this blog with a grain of salt.-Rocky Balboa"Maybe I can't win. But to beat me, he's going to have to kill me. And to kill me, he's gonna have to have the heart to stand in front of me. And to do that, he's got to be willing to die himself. I don't know if he's ready to do that."Comment

I hung that on you guys. No hard feelings intended, just a name I hung on you guys.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Glad to see this thread has returned to normality.
And with it my anticipation has now almost peaked thanks to all the guys who attended the comm day having finally been able to start teasing, ahem, I mean talking.
Adembroski has got me especially pumped for Madden 10.
Some of the things he's been saying seem too good to be true but I know he's no bulls****er.
Really going to be an interesting few months ahead with all the videos, screens, blogs and feature sets yet to be shown.
Draft day should be the start of some really good times.
The most encouraging thing about Madden now is that we have hope. Before we had nothing, just the same, slightly tweaked game over and over with no idea what the team behind it thought of us or the direction of their game. It seemed like a rudderless ship.
Now, with Ian, Phil, Josh, Donny and Michael we know exactly what we have; A game that is moving forward (expotentially according to the 8) in a direction that we all wanted. A true NFL simulator.
Come August I hope that the optimistic posters on OS are proved right and we finally have a next gen football game we can be proud of.
I really don't want to see Coach_Ruckus on here in August saying "I told you so" (That's if he's still not banned :wink

^Yeah this is going to be the most I've ever been excited for any Madden game. There has been so much interaction, and hearing the news from the testers makes me feel that a lot of people will be very very pleased with it especially if you enjoyed Madden 09 for the most part (like I did).
But yeah I just hope that with Madden 10, everything will take a 180 turn in terms of how Madden is viewed on many game forums.
It's time to get Madden back to the awe inspiring greatness that it had.Comment

Yeah man. Like no madden so far this gen has had the replayability that like Madden 2004/2005 had during their time. Like while Madden 09 is a fun game to play imo, the newness wore off after about a month. In Madden 2004/2005 the games still felt new months after they came out.
I truly feel that that will be the case with Madden 10.Comment

I remember that as well.I think the general gist of people just think it's hard to dictate the quality of the game after a community day.

However, what I did, was tell myself this is a new team in charge with new CD people going in. Nothing against the past CD people that went in, but sometimes a different fresh approach is needed.
That is how I separated this years CD vs the years past.Comment

Don't get me wrong though, I did catch and communicate some issues. But I can honestly say that I didn't get nearly as many as I do when I sit down and play 09.Comment
