Happy to know screen plays were at least brought up.

As for the Falcons thing, it would probably be more enjoyable finding out myself anyways.
Still...if any tidbits are out there, don't be afraid to mention them

Did receivers catch in stride like last gen maddens and apf? Or is it like its always been in next gen, they slow down a bit when making a catch, and or jumped up in the air to make a catch when it was not necessary?

      Are there more catch animations?

I for one can tell you that they catch in stride and have more animations...it is obvious because of two things:

        1. This picture...

        2. There was a blog maybe about 3 or 4 weeks ago about WR/DB interaction. That blog alone says that they are focusing on WR's and DB's and I guarantee you that they would not completely overhaul the way they play and not add in new animations...

Jacobs is the Christian Okoye or Earl Campbell from APF in Madden 10? I like big & powerful RB's so I will need to draft him #1 in my leagues if he is any where comparable to Campbell and Okoye.

IndyColts - thanks for the insight but clearly hearing from one of the 8 guys would be much better.

I really hope the suction blocking is fixed. I hate when I'm trying to tackle the ball carrier and the closes blocker on offense is 50 feet away, yet I'm magnetically forced to engage with the linemen for whatever reason. The overall core of the game needs to be fixed or redone. I thought Ian understood this, yet these problems still exist. I still remain skeptical as far as whether these things get fixed or not. But at least I know Ian and company are at least working on creating a pocket for the QB.

But this whole forcing a QB to drop back at least 3 steps is still up in the air to me. On one hand, I want to be able to actually drop back the proper way so I can go through my progressions and give my linemen time to set up. But on the other hand I'm afraid that forcing a QB to drop back automatically will lead to exploitation and more cheesing and glitches. People will always find a way to try to "beat the system" and this will be no exception. The nano blitz is the first thing that comes to mind. Or what if the respond time for the automatic drop back is off(you go to throw or scramble because a defender broke free, but you are unable to do anything because the cpu or system isn't responding) and the QB will continue to drop back, instead of switching to manual or user control.

Ian is there's any chance you can give us a option to turn this automatic drop back on and off? Because me personally, I would prefer to drop back on my own and shift left or right(in the pocket) depending on which side the pressure is coming from.

Anyway, I'm glad some cats from the board was able to test madden in it's early stages and judging from their comments we won't regret buying madden and I hope the major problems that plague this game is fixed.

I have one last good question for today. One of the chosen 8, How often would you see the same tackling animations?
                Thanks

Closer to Earl than Okoye. Didn't break tackles like Earl in 2k8 though - ughh. Earl in 2k8 was just way to crazy when you were handicapped by a lack of defensive fronts. Jacobs is beast though. Just not Earl. I don't think anyone will be like Earl, Rickey Williams, Eddie George. But to me they were only like that because on defense you were handicapped with a lack of fronts.

Were you able to run the ball without having to do some animation to "break tackle" someone. Examples for me would be players like Barry Sanders and Brian Westbrook that often dont even get touched because they move in space but are still highly productive backs. It felt like EVERY single play you had to break a tackle to do anything and in the NFL its not like that.

                      EDIT:
I know you may not be able to talk about the specfics but a yes or no would be great.

I had some runs where I was not touched. That's as specific as I can be for now.

To Dave, Kane, LBZrule, Bezo, AJ, and the rest of the guys who went to community day-

Thank you. Thanks for being a voice for this community, and a critical eye for the (talented group of) Devs at EA. I have read this entire thread twice, to get the best understanding of the information you guys have shared about your experience. In all seriousness, you guys did a great job...I'm certain that M10 will greatly profit from your invaluable input, feedback, and criticism.

                          Thanks again,
                          Izzy-

The sad thing about being SIM is that if we want real SIM football than there should be very few defenders in Madden with a Wrap up Tackler attribute. In the NFL as we know it today the basic fundamentals are out the window. Instead in this day we have everyone going for the SportsCenter highlight reel hit. That is cool to see but I would rather see basic fundamental wrap up tackles. It blows my mind to see how sloppy the NFL is in tackling in todays game. This is not just because they forgot how but also that they CAN NEVER PRACTICE THIS BECAUSE THE HEAD COACH IS TOO AFRAID OF THERE OFFENSIVE PLAYERS GETTING HURT!!!

I like Lofa but if he goes out and has another lack luster showing in the tackling department he will not be in my HOF!!!!

                              Sorry for the rant

It was a well placed rant lol. There really is an issue with NFL wrap up tackle in the open field and all that. It just bugs me the most that we dont see the hand tackles/grabs in madden like we see on almost every single play IRL(thats overstating obviously) Im curious if this is fixed in M10 but only time will tell with that currently
