    Formation subs...

Is it just me or does anyone else think that this is a MUST especially when playing with teams like florida who ave multiple speed guys who excel in different ways of use.

Maybe this can be added with the "All-new risk-reward gameplanning" stated on the back of the gamestop pre-order cover.

I would hope this is a must to the EA Team. I hate having to slowly scroll through the different pre-formatted formation subs, and then not being able to sub anyone else in at the same time. Frustrating.

Not having formation subs drives me nuts. I can understand how it can be abused online, so I'd rather they just make it not work online than leave it entirely out of the game.

I'm still holding out that either/both formation subs and custom playbooks are going to be announced.

Yeah, I hope there in, just like I hope offensive specific playbooks are in. I dont want to be Michigan, and not have a slot reciever in at all times. Michigan rarely, if ever goes with just 2 WR's, now. They will always have at least 3 recievers in.

I miss formation subs. Most of what I want is in there with packages, but I'd like custom packages (ala Madden 06 last gen) for offense and defense. That would take the place of formation subs. I miss having my TE in the backfield as a fullback.

I don't think it's a must. To me, the feature that lets you do HB Spell or Backup QB is good enough.

When I do want more control over players, it's generally not by formation that I want to sub, but by play. That would of course be too much to ask.

I would imagine that Michigan's playbook will be updated for the RichRod era. I'm surprised if that wasn't the case for NCAA09.

The playbook was updated. But, the playbook was mostly done incorrectly. With the HB and the FB in on the split shotgun formation, because there are 2 HB's in on the formation, most of the time in real life. I've noticed that on different plays, RR goes with either 2 HB's, or 1 HB and 1 FB.

I understand your view of it but doing all that is a hassle sometimes.

See I use multiple formations when I play (Spread HDMI type guy) not based on the formation but for certain plays. For example if I have a great pocket passer that starts but I have a good scrambler as my backup he can come in and run 4 wr spread sets and option plays ala virgina tech style with glennon and tyrod. Also, the way i recruit would benefit from this as well, i tend to go for tall fast receivers and a couple scat receivers. Lets say i use the shoutgun tight all cross but I want my 6'5 90 speed 5th receiver to be the guy doing a post...formation subs would allow this to be no hassle at all and let me do it before entering a game

That's true, it would be nice to dictate which WR lines up where in which formation.
