i love it when the team takes so many walks...well, in this case, were given so many walks.

dusty must have been laughing his *** off what with the cubs "clogging up the basepaths" with all those walks....

So...of the top of your head...

How many hits does Milton Bradley have this season?

I still have patience...but it is wearing thin, especially with Hoffpauir giving the team every reason to play him regularly.

I am still patient with Soto, if only bc he can be great if he can strikeout less...

But I have absolutely no patience for Aaron Miles continuing to start and continuing to get out so regularly in front of the pitchers. Fontenot is struggling, but it ain't gonna get better with him riding the pine. Miles is never going to do more than what he is doing...Fontenot, on the other hand, still has some upside. wtf, lou?

otherwise, 7 innings, and 1 ER for Lily...that is good, even if the cubs don't get the win.

Does Lou seriously have Fukadome batting 3rd and Lee cleanup?

Really Lou? Looks like we're gonna get shut out again. Please stop pretending and bat Lee 7th.

            Agree with everything you said.

I think the one thing that is keeping Micah from seeing more playing time was exposed today. Defense. Maybe it was just an aberration today but if he can't play the OF any better than that I just don't see how he can get on the field right now. He just looks really uncomfortable out there.

Hopefully Milton is just pressing right now. Because the longer he goes without hitting the more pissed off he is going to get. And no team is gonna benefit from a pissed off Milton Bradley. The guy has a couple of screws loose to say the least.

CHICAGO'S ARAMIS RAMIREZ LEFT THE GAME IN THE FIFTH INNING DUE TO A LEFT CALF STRAIN.

Thanks, jistic...caught in on the tube just a minute ago...as in just before the cubs couldn't get the runner from third in to take the lead. as in Fontenot was thrown 3 straight hooks and was fooled by everyone.

i am not ashamed to say that i am so ****ing jealous that the cubs seen destined to NEVER have a player like Pujols...a player you truly can count on in every aspect of the game day in and day out.

after today (saturday) Lee is hitting .197

Am I crazy to think that with Bradley ineffective/unavailable, ARam getting hurt for the 2nd time, Lee doing diddly squat, Soto struggling to get it going, and the pen being less than reliable...that the organization should be worried?

The offense has been so anemic that Hoffpauir's defense might be excused just to get some life in the middle of the lineup.

I like Fontenot, but--even with his slow start aside--if he is hitting 5th, that is bad news. It is also bad for Soto, who has Lee and Font in front of him...so he is never getting up with runners on, so pitchers can almost do what they want.

Y'all will be ok..Cubs have a good team. they're just struggling right now. Only thing I would be worried about though is Big Derrick Lee, He's really on the downside. I really think he was on them roids, right after they started testing, dude got sorry, Or could be he still haven't recovered from the wrist injury. All in All y'all should be looking for another first baseman soon, or is Hoffpair going to take that spot.

The cubs will be there once it's said and done.

As bad as it has been, still at .500, seems alot worse. When you can't hit, everything else that happens is magnified. Hopefully this gets better sooner rather than later.

Good. I'm glad they lost today.

                          I hope they go 47-115.

**** this team. **** this organization. **** the fans too.

Harden's a K machine. Worried about these last 9 outs. Nice to see the bats come alive a bit.

                              just for some perspective.

In roughly 100 ABs (not counting BBs), Hoffpauir has 15 xbhs. (10 2b, 5hr)...that doesn't sound like much...

                              But...

if you look at Pujols's numbers from last year, the ratio of xbhs to ABs (again not counting Pujols's 100bbs) is in favor of Hoffpauir.

I am not suggesting that Micah is Albert, or even close. Just wanted to put it out there.

He either needs platoon play or regular play, OR needs to be shipped at the end of the year to the AL to be a DH. His Defense is clearly a huge liability, and I don't know if he will work as a 1B. This may mean that the Cubs really can't count on him long term, as he is too good to be a pinch-hitter, but too poor in defense for the NL. ....wait...can he pitch?

Great point, but what do we do? Do they actually sit Lee? We can't trade him. That would be foolish.
