Re: Madden NFL 10 Blog: Letting the "Wildcat" Loose
I hope some Wildcat plays are installed into the Eagles playbook, not a whole lot, just some (like 6 or so). Although everytime I saw them run a Wildcat play, it never really worked out. However, with the additions of Maclin, "Shady", and Ingram, it seems that the Eagles would be more effective in running it this year since the personel seems to fit better. Maclin, Jackson, Westbrook, Booker, Curtis, and McCoy are ALL speedy guys alongside McNabb, who is known for his athleticism and with Ingram and Celek being the large-recieving kind of TE's that they are. There's huge possibilities of the kinds of combinations the Eagles can use all of these guys in different positions throughout the formation. Not to mention, their O-Line is lock this season which will allow TE's and HB's to go out on routes instead of stayin back to block and pick up another defender.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 10 Blog: Letting the "Wildcat" Loose
To all you complaining still, after the unprecedented effort being made by Ian and Team this year...STFU! If you still don't get everything you want in the game this year, just don't buy the game in August when it comes out. But to sit here and bitch/complain in APRIL at every turn is stunning. And to not give props to Ian/Team at this point is simply incredulous. Wow!
EA guys....thanks for the hard work as I for one believe you are pouring your blood, sweat, tears into this one for us....and WITH us. We realize (most of us, at least) it's not going to be a perfect game, but it's looking like a HUGE improvement over anything we've seen for the past 4 or so years.
Thanks and Thanks again.

Re: Monday blog is up - letting loose the Wildcat
I know what I would like, I would like to adjust my Defense as fast as possible against this, the way it is now we will get killed by this, on CG I can set up my D right after breaking the huddle and be done before the QB gets under center, not so on NG...
The Wild Cat looks awsome also, I'll be useing it." Sonny Liston is nothing. The man can't talk. The man can't fight. The man needs to take talking lessons. The man needs to take fighting lessons. And since he's fighting me, he needs falling lessons."

Re: Madden NFL 10 Blog: Letting the "Wildcat" Loose
Well I didn't have any interest in the Wildcat formation, so the blog was not my cup of tea. However, I was hoping that I would at least get a glimpse of the game running with the normal gameplay camera. I understand why Ian shot the videos so tight, but it's disappointing nonetheless. I'll wait for next monday I guess."I'll die before I lose, cuz I was born to win."- Drake

One thing I do like is that Ian and co. caught on to one of the more important aspects of the wildcat, the unbalanced line.Comment

Re: Monday blog is up - letting loose the Wildcat
They might have band-aided them in for passing plays, but from the runs I saw they're still missing for run defense.
That is a glaring hole if that's the case when the game ships. I know that they were heavily emphasized when Ian first started soliciting community involvement, so it will be a huge disappointment if they aren't added.
The defensive line needs to be able to dictate double teams based on penetration and scheme. Without it, we are still stuck in the same rut -- 8-9 man fronts being the only way to stop the run.Last edited by Deltron; 04-27-2009, 08:14 PM.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 10 Blog: Letting the "Wildcat" Loose
Looks great! There is one thing I would like to call to attention and that is the diving animation in the last video at the goal line. It looked like the same dive we've had forever, where he reaches for the pylon as he does an Arnold "Get to the Choppa!!!" dive and roll.
It has always been my opinion that that animation triggers far too frequently in pylon diving situations. I want to see more of the "think skinny reach" that ballcarries do so frequently now as they pull their arms to their sides while reaching towards around the pylon and try to tip-toe inside it at the same time...
this is hard to explain...
I see done a lot among RB's on goal line sweeps. I tried to find a vid but failed miserably. hope you understand what I'm getting at.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 10 Blog: Letting the "Wildcat" Loose
really. if our fat albert doesnt command a triple team than this game is a bust
it does look like a solid double team, maybe even a triple, the guy at the top seems to hand jenkins off when he knows he has no angle to block him.
ians probably still keepin it a secret.
