Re: ESPN: Madden 10 preview
Did you guys vocalize this to them? Seems strange that they would ignore you and put the meter up anyway...
The meter seems to not only be distracting from what you guys have said but it also kills any excitement when you know what the ref is going to signal... at least that is what it sounds like to me.
I still don't understand why they can't let ratings take care of it... seems much better.
They were very open to suggestions, but I'm guessing this was a "fun factor" decision. I just don't understand why anyone thinks it's more fun to look at a meter than it is to look at the action.Shout out to The Watcher! Where you at bruh?Comment

Re: ESPN: Madden 10 preview
I think right now button mashing and "QTE" mixed is the only way to handle pileups, so I'm glad they are using it this year. I do hope (wish) that the development team will consider the feedback from CD and in this thread and possibly remove the possession meter or atleast drastically shrink it and give us a field level view of the pileup.Favorite Sports Teams

Re: ESPN: Madden 10 preview
My biggest gripe with the fumble feature is that not all fumbles are fights for the ball.
Many times, a fumble happens and another guy simply picks it up.
In the alpha version of the game (and I stress alpha, because the guys at EA know this criticism I mentioned), there were way too many fights for the fumbles, which I think is stupid.
9 times out of 10, the only time you see a fight for the ball is in crowds ... not open space.
Hopefully, this is something that is rectified by game release.Comment

Re: ESPN: Madden 10 preview
I suggested they take it out while I was there and in a follow up email. Specifically, I suggested "hiding" the meter, keep the mashing, but make us alternate buttons to eliminate turbo button advantages.

Re: ESPN: Madden 10 preview
i like the button mash thing.. although i could c y peeps want to get rid of the meter so u can look at the action.. but after seeing the cut scene 3 or 4 times i could care less. ..the meter will always show the continuous struggle between you n your opponent and that will always change..usually lolDIE HARD Knicks, Yankees, and Titans fan...

Re: ESPN: Madden 10 preview
My precise feedback was "ditch the meter, milk the drama, let the ref tell us who won". I'm not sure why they decided to go with the initial design.
There were two issues with the fumbles... the meter and the camera angle (it was this birds eye view that has been used far too much in Madden games over the years and I think should be ditched completely).
Edit:It would make sense to me for the casual to have the meter and the hardcore to have it turned off. At least it be a option for people who like drama in the football game.
Just my opinion though.Last edited by SouthernBrick; 04-28-2009, 04:16 PM.Originally posted by WatsonTigerOne out of 7 billion, and we still tagged your ***.Comment

Re: ESPN: Madden 10 preview
It's mash all the way. But there was concern for turbo controller users, so the button you have to mash changes several times.
I personally don't mind the mashing. It seems appropriate for pile ups. But the meter is VERY distracting. I couldn't enjoy the pile up since I had to watch for the button changes & meter.
I need to decide basically this week...but I am definitely not crazy about the meter.Comment

Re: ESPN: Madden 10 preview
Kinda ironiic. Espn football had that feature in First person mode... Not my point to bash anything. My point is that I loved that feature and it helped a ton!!! I will say that this madden in looking really strong so far... For me especially this will help. Nice find guys!!!Comment

You won't make everyone happy. Look at the crazy reaction to potential and progression in Franchise Mode. This is another case of one side's logic verses another.Comment

Re: ESPN: Madden 10 preview
Ian if the cut scene is the same cut scene the whole time it could get repetitive. If not a meter u can just have a lil arrow that flashes towards each side that gets the ball..that way ur able to watch the pile up ..or u can ditch the meter n leave it up to suspense... the more i think bout it.. thats how the games go, you dnt really know until some one comes up with the ball or the ref signals one way or the other..so the meter mite kill some of that ...for instance the Titans - Ravens playoff game this yr..(sigh) why did i bring that upLast edited by Smoke316; 04-28-2009, 04:20 PM.DIE HARD Knicks, Yankees, and Titans fan...
