HEY GUYS BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH GAME SINCE PATCH 1.06. HAVENT BEEN ABLE TO PLAY FOR WEEK SINCE! IT ALL STARTED AFTER PATCH. GOING TO MY FRANCHISE GAME THE FIRST NIGHT IT GOT STUCK ON LOADING SCREEN. HAVE HAD FREEZING SINCE. LAS NIGHT I TRYED ERASING (ALL FILES THE SHOW), BUT UPDATE DOWNLOADED UNPROPERLY. I GOT A "8001050F ERROR DURING START UP OPERATION" MESSAGE. THEN I TRYED RESTORING PS3 SETTINGS BUT SAME THING HAPPEN. THEN I RESTORED PS3 SYSTEM WHICH TAKES LIKE 3 HOURS! THE GAME THEN RAN BETTER! DOWNLOADED PATCH THEN RESTARTED THE GAME LIKE NORMAL. FINALLY I SAW COPYRIGHT AND INTRO TO GAME, THEN IT GOT TO PEDROIA SCREEN WERE IT LOOKED LIKE IT WAS GOING TO SUCCESSFULLY INSTALL DATA TO HARD DRIVE WHICH COULD TAKE TO 6-7 MINUTES ON LOADING SCREEN. I THOUGHT "FINALLY I GOT TO WORK", BUT AFTER 15 MIN! THE DATA SEEMED TO BE NOT FULLY LOADING IN BLUE BAR AT BOTTOM, SEEMED STUCK. MY PS3 WAS NOT STUCK BUT THE DATA LOADING ON TO HDD WAS! IT WAS TAKING TO LONG. AT THE END OF EVERYTHING THE RESTORING SEEMED TO CLEAR MY SYSTEM UP, BUT WHEN ATTEMPTING TO REINSTALL GAME FROM SCRATCH IS WHEN MY SYSTEM DOESNT WANNA ACCEPT NEW PATCH, SO THE RESTORATION SEEMED TO WORK!I NOW STARTED RESTORING MY SYSTEM A 2ND TIME ATTEPTING TO REINSTALL GAME TO HARD DRIVE. not reading that but based on your other posts and a few words in there that stand out i am going to say call customer support.

Plus if you do want help from people here I would recommend cleaning that up big time.

Hi so .... can you get to the point where you can play the game without the 1.06 patch ?

Meaning delete the game data and load the game be do not download the patch ?

If you can I would just stay away from the patches .... and play the game and have fun ..

We keep demanding more, more code be put into this game and yep, add something, break something else. We can be our own worst enemy in that regard.

Next year, give me THIS game, FIXED. I'll take a roster update if everything that's in it is fixed.

I'm sorry, but I have to disagree with this statement. Whether you love the game or not, there has to be recognition of what a sim is. You can without a doubt claim that MLB 09 features the best GAMEPLAY ever in a baseball game. But having lineups where Todd Helton leads off and David Ortiz plays 1st base over Kevin Youkilis really dampers the "sim" aspect of the game.

Also, if we're at a point where we're pointing to fixes created by community members as the only viable way to enjoy this game, I'd suggest that SCEA pay Knight and Doc commission for figuring out how to make something work that even their programmers couldn't crack.

I disagree. It's the best sim even if Helton leads off and Ianetta bats 4th.

For example, the other baseball game maker doesn't have these lineup issues, but it doesn't matter, it's not gonna give you anywhere close to a good simulation. It won't give you a good sim because the gameplay is very very bad. The Show on the other hand, even with some goofy lineups still gives you a great sim(realistic games). So yes, The Show, even with the problems, is the most realistic sim out....Period!!

Guys, quick question. Plan on starting my franchise Monday. Read where Russell said it is ok to go ahead and start and the replays will be grandfathered in which is great. Also saw where the extra game (I believe LA/SD) the first week of the season is what seems to be causing the problem. So we don't have to wait for the semi-patch to fix the schedule before starting our franchise?? Won't the schedule be messed up until the patch?? Sorry just kinda confused is all

I couldn't agree more. Russell and the crew could figure these things out, fix them and stamp 2010 on the cover and then go home until it's time to make The Show 2011 I love this game that much!!

I just had to put my 2 cents in here ...

I been in the IT industry for a long time ... I appreciate this game as it has given me a lot of hours of enjoyment . I appreciate that Russell comes here to post and give feedback as he puts it "he is here to interact with the community "...

On the other hand I believe SCEA knew this was going to happen .There is no other reason why so many are having these problems .

The question is why would they not state that this would break your franchise or RTTS ? (on a webiste or when you downloaded the patch ) ...

Could it have been a lack of QA ? Do you really think that ?

I just think this is a lack of communication .... Microsoft does this sometimes with there patches ... they break things ..

I guess we will never know ..

Anyway have fun out there .

8001050F Error during start up operation only occured after patch install. Figured I had to reformat hard drive b4 throing it in trash. I reformatted it and came started fine for first time in couple a days! It downloaded patch then went to pedroia screen were it puts everything on HDD. it looked like it was gonna work! It said it can take 6-7 min. after 15 min. and the load bar seemed stuck, but my system wasnt stuck. therefore i feel that my system is fine but fighting with that PATCH 1.06. After seeing improvment whem reformatting i havent lost hope. Now im reformatting for 2nd time hoping this time the install to HDD doesnt get stuck at pedroia screen. Im about to call Sony, but i know there jus going to tell me to send it in. Hopefully theyll just replace, but first im reformatting 2nd time and mayb tryen different game first like Killzone and if that works i figure its a Patch 1.06 issue thats clogging my HDD with bug thats making my system appear broken when in reality this only came to surface after drowning of that patch in my system! 411 guys. Im probably the last one left with no Show. Im stuck in middle of ocean here! This sucks

Problem is I've tried 13 times to no avail.

I got that the day the patch was released. The only way I could get connected to SC was to actually quit out of the game and go back in and try again. It would work sometimes after doing that.
