Re: MLB 09: The Show Patch Released 4/27/09 - Impressions and Discussion Here
I asked the question, and I have already downloaded the patch. I haven't seen any problems so far with either of my RTTS games, but I suppose it will happen sooner or later.
One more thing: when Russell comes on again, I'd like to know if potential is one of the attributes that can be updated on a weekly basis.Comment

I gotta tell you, next year Im waiting to buy this game, plain and simple, I feel like Ive been burned and basically told to deal with it in the process. Hell, if the fix that caused all this was a gameplay problem that was effecting so many then I could understand but to fix the schedule for only part of the league anyways and screw up existing franchises in the process seems like one of the dumbest things Ive seen SCEA do in regards to their great baseball title.Comment

Re: MLB 09: The Show Patch Released 4/27/09 - Impressions and Discussion Here
Color me absolutely pissed, I speculated days upon days ago that the schedule fix was screwing existing franchises up only to be ignored by Russell and avoided like I had the swine flu. Suddenly my fears are confirmed and the solution is to restart, thats the best SCEA as a company can come up with? This has to be the first time Ive EVER heard of people crying about certain aspects of the game, ie. schedule not being perfect, which dont have any impact on the actual ability to play a franchise/season/rtts and actually get their way. So, let me get this straight, in an effort to appease the fans complaining about too many night games for certain teams my franchise is completely screwed if I want to use the patch that was released? Thats acceptable? Seriously, you corrected the schedule so Cubs fans wouldnt be forced to cry themselves to sleep at night at the lack of day games and in turn screwed each and every person who had already started a franchise prior to that, and again, your solution is, too bad so sad but restart all over again?

I know you're pissed and probably don't want to hear anything except other people being pissed...lol...but...
In theory, couldn't you play out the rest of your first year without the patch, then re-download it prior to the start of year two? The scheduling issue should not be a problem in that regard, I would think, since it's a fresh schedule you haven't played through yet.
Granted, it's not perfect (and doesn't change the fact that some people will feel slighted and all that) as you'd have to either sim past the remainder of year 1 or play it out without the game being patched, but it may be worth it for some if it actually works. Just an idea.Comment

For me I started my chise post patch and only have the replay problem. Lucky me I suppose. But I have to say that it's very hard to argue your comment chef. You bring up very valid points. I'm a bit dissapointed in all this especially for all those who have to start over.Originally posted by Anthony BourdainThe celebrity chef culture is a remarkable and admittedly annoying phenomenon. I don't think it's really fair if people aren't allowed to voice opinions on this subject should they be negative. Mindless insulting I can agree has no place here but come one, this is a pretty big slap in the face. If this happened in a game made by EA or 2k I think OS would explode.Comment

Hey, if your directing those comments towards me then I apologize for some of the strong language. I did leave out some of the harsher words I was going to use, lol, but I hope you understand that its just frustration coming through and know that Im a relatively solid poster here who doesnt just fly of the handle over nothing. I think I need a self induced break from this thread in specific for now, or atleast a break from posting in this thread, as Im destined to say something that will get me a red card if I keep posting in here.Comment

Re: MLB 09: The Show Patch Released 4/27/09 - Impressions and Discussion Here
Russell I have a question, if my roster doesnt have the career stat glitch, will the patch still fix the lineup problems or in order to do anything am I gonna have to download the latest scea roster 4/27 to play a fully functional dynasty? The rosters I have now are good to go aside from the lineups being out of order during the franchiseComment

I've said it before. We expect everything to be in this game, absolutely everything. More code on top of more code. I've said it before and will shut my mouth after this, but the devs have to sit and try to recreate (from the million bits of code) what triggers a bug/glitch. We can blame ourselves somewhat. Load this game up with everything under the sun.
Changing things in the game isn't as simple as sitting at a keyboard and typing, and "presto".
We'll expect the same for next year. More stuff, more stuff! Hope SCEA takes the recent problems to heart and decides to put out a game that is "fixed" and not try to over extend.

Re: MLB 09: The Show Patch Released 4/27/09 - Impressions and Discussion Here
First i'm glad there doing a mini patch to help things out but for me and many others the lineup glitch is by far the most important thing and reading back i don't remember it being addressed in the new patch, is this correct? I know theres a work around for this but now i'll have to spend a another $60 dollors to play this game making it about a $125 game? Is that fair? If there is away to do this with 1 controller i'd be glad to hear it.Comment

So if I start a new franchise do i also have to erase each and every mlb the show 09 save off of my hard drive to ensure no future freezes or corrupt saves? I must have 50-60 saves on my hdd.Comment
