Is there any reason to anticipate my franchise becoming fubar, or am I in the clear to keep going? I downloaded the most recent patch, obviously.
I was on April 27th of my Mets franchise when I downloaded the patch and I've played three games (and simmed six) and haven't had a problem. No crash to the XMB, no lineup glitch, no historical stats glitch, no replay glitch (yet). I have no idea if it'll stay that way, but I'm moving forward with my franchise.

    Good luck!

Thanks for the reply Russell - I am really shocked that you guys aren't fixing this though. Oh well, no point worrying about it too much.

I understand why SCEA is on these boards, but I fail to see why they couldn't have just said this when they released the information that a new patch will be released. Everything about this patch seems really cryptic, which is probably the most frustrating thing for me personally.

I can't wait to have those replays on the franchises and RTTS that I can no longer play!

Are we not supposed to post things that go against Sony or this game? I sure get that feeling sometimes. I love that the developers come here and give us info, but this is a message board and it really feels like, at times, that people can't have a real opinion. This is not really all towards you, but many folks on this board who are quick to jump on anyone that says something negative about this game.

            WHATEVER.
The thing is that is really a big reason why we have this mess. The schedule should have been correct to start with, but it wasn't a big enough deal to warrant a patch that fixed nothing else.

I think the Cubs fans are the perfect people to blame.

This was something I feared might happen because they did SO much to try and get the management portion improved and the logic tweaked.

Yet with all these changes (subtle to us...probabaly not so subtle to those programming it) people kept demanding more; create-a-team, expansion mode, "real-time" atmosphere, create-a-stadium, etc, etc. The requests ranged from wishlist type hopes, to hostage demands...lol. It's an endless cycle.

I think some of that desire to appease a demanding fan base DOES lead to issues. Take The Chef's gripe. He (and others) lose out on their franchises because a very vocal group had strokes over the Cubs schedule (the rest of the teams with schedule issues, just as "broken", barely registered as blips). Now we have a schedule that is more accurate, but franchises that are toast.

Like I said...balance. To some degree, we have to hold ourselves responsible. I'm not saying how much, or even that SCEA doesn't still hold the overarching culpability (they do, IMO), just that I see where Jim is coming from. I don't think he's letting them completely off the hook. Just pointing out that "more" isn't always better.

In the end, it may be their game, but it's ours too. They've given us an aweful lot of input into what's prioritized. At the very least, this should be a wake up call that they are not machines, not perfect, and we should all probably keep stability in mind when making our requests.
Completely agree with everything you said and I know Jim isn't letting them off of the hook, I guess the way he worded it threw me for a loop. Sony HAS to continue to improve this game in order to keep the majority of their fan base happy, for guys like myself, as long as the core gameplay is unchanged and nothing is broken (that wasn't already before) I'm pretty content with what I have... the best baseball sim ever.

Ok fine, maybe I want fireworks, BUT THATS IT.

I was wondering if anyone else has seen this. But, I have seen them pre-patch also. The ads are on the right field baggy in the Metrodome for random games, not all.

Now I can't get that stupid $5 footlong song out of my head, LOL!

My replay vault works, post game highlights work. The Cpu still sets the lineup the way it wants ( i play with roster control on), but thats the way it was before. My question is, why is only some peoples game having problems???????? If i had to grade this patch i would say WHAT PATCH? nothings seems to be different in regards to replays and highlights and lineups etc....
Same with me...everything still works perfectly for me. I'm wondering what the deal is why it is affecting some folks and not others.

I think all that is being asked is that feedback, whether negative or positive, is passed on in a constructive manner minus the tantrum like posts that have been seen of late. Nothing more.

Sony I am sure are all for constructive criticism. There is a right and wrong way to go about it though. Examples of both are in this thread.

Face it, we got hosed if we had pre-patch franchises so other "important" things could get fixed. Do I believe they set out to do this on purpose? Of course not, Im not an idiot. Is it a huge letdown to hear that they are in essence doing nothing to resolve this problem? Yes it is.
I thought all one had to do was sim to the next date on an existing franchise and it would not crash.

If you sim to next date, the simulation goes back and picks up the added game and carries on normally from there.

Yeah, lots of people post negative stuff, but some people have talked to the devs and Russell in a way they wouldn't want anyone to talk to them. That's a problem and those things get responded to, but to say "anytime" anybody posts something negative they get jumped is a bit of a stretch, lol. A BIG bit of a stretch. There's negatives all over this thread that have been completely agreed with.

As far as some people having the patch and no problem.....that's probably the nature of the patch....who knows. I know I had to restart my franchise after the patch, some don't....go figure.

I think the funny thing is that the game was awesome at first - then the patch ironically did the opposite...created way more problems than it fixed. If things were reversed and how the game is now (post-patch) was actually box version and a patch came out that made it the original (pre-patch) version than all of us would be happy campers. Am I seriously the only one who finds the irony in this situation?

I didn't go back to find my post (like looking for the Loch Ness Monster this thread is so big), but didn't mean for it to sound that way. This is a mess. My point is we probably get what we ask for sometimes. Man, next year people are going to want a new swing stick, different pitching mechanics, collision detection, new player models, on and on.

                              NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Fix THIS game, lol.
