Ed Reed hit him so hard his hand went right into White's back.

Looks good for an early build though.

Thank god EA has finally notice the panthers and put them up on video as a example. Steve is the man. Smith is one of the best WR in the league right now. But anyway Ian good blog. I enjoyed very much. I am just waiting now to see if any of the nay sayers come out of the wood works to cast doom and gloom on this blog and the game. lol But I think Ian and his crew is doing a great job.

Ian, great blog, I'm impressed, will we be able to recreate the great escape of Eli at superbowl 2008 with PRO-TAK? Thanks.

Great blog. A couple of things animation wise that I see could use tuning (Ray Lewis angle on gang tackle and how he sucks into position on the gang tackle) but it is reassuring that they have so much time to get it right so I do not see any reason why it won't be cleaned up. Really looking forward to this year, great work.

Pro-Tak IF EXECUTED CORRECTLY, could be the best addition to any football videogame ever.

Any word if this is just going to be on Madden or also on NCAA?

                  Thanks,

Yea, if Pro-Tak was finished...it would be a little worrisome but they're still working on the tweaks. I do agree with others about the stop Reed gave White from that side angle hit. It would hav e been more realistic if after White got hit if he pushed forward and fell into the endzone crossing the plane or something along those lines.

I'm still impressed by the blog and the videos.

Ian i really liked how u can steer a defensive of lineman away from the qb. I used to hate when u had like a julius peppers who can rush the qb and cant be touched by the offensive tackle.

I also loved the brandon Jacobs vid. cause in 09 he was less powerful then in real life. now with the new pro tech. could this adapt to any running back besides power back. say ur like Ahmad bradshaw could u be able to like sneek ur way out of the pile if ur like a small elusive running back? can u give us a hint on next week blog.

The more news I hear about pro-tak, the more that it amazes me. Great blog. The block steering looks great.

                            Great looking stuff.

Ian, the Lendale White stuff at the goalline reminded me of something I've felt Madden has needed for years.

Are there any animations where defenders 'pull' back the ballcarrier? Too many times in goalline situations, I've seen defenders tackle ballcarriers into the endzone

Protak looks like it's got some elements of it, but it's difficult to tell from those two videos.

Might have missed this from the blog?
Keeping with the spirit of the breakout system from 09, we extended the ball-carrier’s ability to break out of tackles so that you can even shed these large gang tackles… This means as a ball carrier you can seek the daylight and “fight for every yard” by breaking out of this large mass of defenders. Now don’t panic, it isn’t going to be an easy thing to do (as this happens maybe only a few times per season in the NFL), but we did want to make sure it was possible to shed multiple tacklers with a skilled back, especially if you can find a direction to sneak out of that doesn’t have a defender trying to hang on and bring you to the ground.

Some issue's that can be fixed before game release.

First with the Brandon Jacobs video players are attaching just to add to the pile. No feeling of someone trying to make a tackle or making a hit, especially when that big lineman comes in.

Second, momentum needs to be a part of the game Lindale White at full speed (it seemed) vs Ed Reed (full speed) with White getting stood up was disappointing aspect from the other video. Hopefully that is a 1 to 15 ratio of happening again.

Third don't get caught up listening to the wrong people. Don't make a 2k5 version make a NFL version.
