A lot of people are uninstalling this recent patch (1.06).

However, the are losing patch 1.01 when they do this.

Would you please post what you know 1.01 fixes or find out for the O.S. community. My understanding was that it was the ticker and some online issues, but maybe you can enlighten us.

I pitched a 3 hit shut out against the Pirates and extended Brian McCann's hit streak to 10 games. I finish the game, and as I go to the loading screen back to the franchise menu, it freezes. Nothing I could do, so I had to restart my PS3.

I simmed the game because I couldn't play the same game twice. my Pitching was too spot on. So I simmed to get the closest result I could statistically.

The next game, I played one inning and did an in game save, to see if the game would save properly. When I clicked save and exit, the screen went black and I lost my inning. I tried this twice more, same result.

I came to the conclusion that there was no way around this, so I deleted the piece of s*** patch 1.06. I lost all my music cues in the process, and since I did every gave every single mlb player music, I lost a lot of time.

All I can do is roll up my sleeves, and redo all the cues and reassign the music once again.

I hate the fact my reliever innings are inaccurate while viewing stats in the bull pen, but I have no choice but to play without the broken patch. There is no way I am gonna restart my entire franchise. I just can't do that.

I thought I was the exception to the patch destroying pre-patch franchises. I was wrong. I waited a very long time to begin my franchise, and I just can't restart. If I still experience problems with my patch free franchise, I am afraid I am going to give up on this game. It saddens me, but I am sick and tired of starting and restarting and so on.

This is a terrific game, but that crummy patch really disappointed me. SCEA made a great game, but damn that stupid patch.

I thought I had escaped the post patch drama but now my franchise has been stricken. No replays for me. Sigh...I'm still loving the game though, just amazed that a patch could make it worse.

Just curious... why did everyone rush to install the patch? Did the daytime schedules really bother you that much? Or was it just a reflex?

Reflex I guess? A lot of people play online and you need the patch to play online. A lot of people like to download rosters (off the Vault and SCEA rosters) and you need the patch to do that.

Besides, I don't think I've ever heard of a patch actually making saved games 'unplayable.'

Not sure I understand the thinking behind your question. The patch was meant to fix FAR more than the schedules. If you look at the list, it was supposed to fix the Roster Control, farm director issues, statistical discrepancies, RTTS freezes, issues with going into video saves, online issues, etc. It's actually an extensive list.

Plus, it's normal reaction to install a patch to a game when it comes out...normaly no reason not too (I guess this would fall somewhere in the neighborhood of your "reflex" idea), especially when some where hoping for the fixes to allow them to go forward in RTTS. The communication on whether or not it would be safe was unclear as well (not placing blame, it's likely SCEA didn't know for sure themselves. Just pointing out that it was impossible to know the patch would goof some peoples games).

It's just a very, very rare thing indeed for a fix to be an actual detriment to files already in progress. To not fix prior files is one thing (actually quite common), but it is unfortunate that it screwed with prior saves. Hopefully things will go smoother in the future all around.

Exactly. The developers gave us a list of what it was going to fix, why wouldn't we believe them? They have a good track record. Unfortunately it didn't fix what they said it would and broke the replays. "Once bitten twice shy" is how some people will handle patches in the future.

But even then, there are people on this forum who swear that everything works great after the patch. So even after reading impressions from guys that have credibility like DrUrsus who has reported no problems, why would you not install the patch?

And you need the patch to get the rosters and play online. I think the better question would be, why did the developers release the patch in its current state?

That's not the "better question" at all.

It really gets old when individuals acts as if the guys who develop these games INTEND to do some of the things that happen.

Had they known this would have been the case, the patch would've never been released.

But doesn't SCEA have a QA department that really should have caught the issues that people are having?? Obviously they didn't INTEND to release a broken patch; no one is accusing them of that - but, the patch obviously went through little to no testing prior to its release.

Of course they didn't intend for this to happen. But it happend for whatever reason. Just like a plate of food at a restaurant that has a hair in it. Had the chef known it was in there, he wouldn't have sent it out.

Why would you ask the person who ordered it why they were eating it?

Who bears the responsibility regardless if it was an accident or not? Certainly not the customer. I just don't understand your reasoning.

I obviously can't answer your question.

But the comments on the forums would lead you to believe some don't agree with the part in bold.

It's no different than when they released the game with a bug in the first place. It is software, and all the time and "QA" in the world can't cover all your bases.
