I think I understand your point- but I am not too sure what this has to do with perspective? Are you saying we should have suspected that in addition to the patch not addressing certain in-game issues (which is common) we should have also anticipated a patch which broke otherwise operable game features?
There's two sides to that coin. I would only be that paranoid about a company that has proven to me that it's incapable of providing adequate services. SCEA to me is certainly not in that category, nor would I think they would ever wish to be. Further, for anyone who felt that way up front, I am skeptical that they would purchase the product to begin with.
My question to you is: Why
not rush to update? This was a purportedly QA'd patch from a reputable company that does not have a history of shoddy quality- which this patch clearly was.
If you want to ask me if I will be more hesitant next time- I think you already know the answer to that question given recent developments.
