Actually it's three recruiting classes. You start with 2009, add a new class at the start of the 2010 season, add a new class at the start of the 2011 season, and add a new class at the start of the 2012 season.

But, your point still stands. With the players coming in rated lower now, and progressing more, it could be that you won't see an abundance of super-speed guys until the generated classes become seniors or redshirt seniors... so maybe 2013 or 2014.

Can you please make sure Georgia vs Ga Tech is Thanksgiving week and locked. Georgia vs Auburn locked as well, but you guys usually get that one right.

I hope they fixed the speed system.... They showed only one guy with 99 speed, well whoever has him is gonna blow by everyone since no one is that fast.... I hope they fixed the speed system instead of just lowering how many fast guys there are...

I believe they already said they got rid of that ridiculous speed curve '09 had.

i like this a lot. no happening to have all freshman then end up having most of the team go at one time.

Have there been any modifications to the coaching system? I will be extremely disappointed if some depth wasn't added to dynasty anywhere else, if it was only tweaked in the ways this article describes.

I think if EA wants to truly expand the dynasty mode, they are going to have to create a second detailed dynasty mode or options for people. Many casual and even hardcore gamers don't want to have to deal with an overly detailed dynasty system. They just want to recruit some players and play games. Others want to hire and fire assistant coaches, upgrade facilities, have ultra detailed recruiting (perhaps talking to high school players well in advance) that would take a lot more time and effort. If EA does add more stuff, they need to have a "simple" system for those that don't want it. I've read a number of complaints from people that think the current recruiting system is too complicated. EA is in a tough spot with regards to future dynasty options.

To me dynasty is just getting incredibly boring. Every year the only difference is some recruiting changes.

The system you talked about will never happen, so I guess I'm stuck.

I'm late to the party on this. Sorry, been knee deep in Madden for months.

LOVED this blog. Great moves all around.

Did they really remove the speed curve? I don't remember seeing that. Personally, I don't think that was really the problem as much as the pursuit angles and lack of DB/WR interaction (which I haven't heard if that made it into NCAA).

It was a ways overdone, but I still liked the idea, at the college level, of emphasizing the difference in speed between players. Still, I'd rather they took the Madden route and matched the ratings up to realistic 40 times.

The gameplay would be wide open for the right reasons.
There are two types of people on OS: Those who disagree with me, and those who agree.

The first kind is wrong. The second is superfluous.

the WR/DB interactions are in NCAA too. not sure if they completely got rid of the speed curve, but I believe they lessen the effect of it. they also reduced the amount of elite speed recruits that come in. in '09 there were way too many(at times, after a few seasons, there were between 10-18 players with 99 speed) so getting a 99 speed recruit will actually mean something instead of it being something everyone has.

Haven't seen anything saying they stretched the rating like in Madden but I have seen they have WR/DB interaction and the pursuit angles have been fixed.
