    Your top 3 Golf Games.

    1. Jack Nicklaus Golf Online - I played this one in 98 and 99 on Gamestorm. First online golf game I ever played.

    2. Links 2003 - Really should be #1 but put it as #2 just because.

    3. Tiger Woods 99 - I think it was 99.. Anyways it was for PC and it is still the best TW game I have played.

I am still playing Links 2003 as it is still the best golf game out there.

      1. TW 2004 (PC) - I need to pop that in, it's been too long since I played. It was a little bit easy, but still fun to play with my created character.

      2. PGA Championship Golf 2000 (PC) - OnlookerDelay, that was the one by Sierra right? I loved it, except that it didn't play nicely with my computer. Definitely the most realistic golf video game I've played, for the short time I played it until it stopped working and wouldn't reinstall. I had to return it to Gamestop (or Babbage's or whatever it was called at the time).

      3. PGA Tour Gold (PC) - Played a decently fun game, really here by default because I needed to come up with a third game. It's been awhile since I played any golf video games. Maybe I ought to try some next-gen golf and check out TW10 when it drops.

That was my favorite PC version of TW golf. I liked the configurable season it offered.

Yes. I would still be playing it if the golfers didn't look so bad. They just weren't up to the quality of the course graphics, but what was there was animated nicely.

Yeah, those courses looked great at the time.

Jack Nicklaus 6 (PC) - There are at least 100 great courses available on the net, probably more, and hundreds addition decently playable ones. Ready Golf and ladder play on the net made this one a winner. It's age is unfortunately showing a bit.

PGA Tour Golf II (Genesis) - This game rocked. It was quirky but it was actually reasonably difficult (for me) and I'd only win a tourney every once in a while. I really liked the feature that kept track of your own overall performance compared to all of the PGA players in it.

Mario Golf (N64) - A lot of good times in high school playing this game with friends. Simple, quick, and excellent. It holds up better than the GC version IMO.

I never played golf games on the old consoles because I thought they looked really really bad.. I did have Pebble Beach Golf Links for the Saturn though and it was ok but not near top 3 for me.

I never got to play some that are being listed .

Anyone ever play British Open Championship golf? Older game was for the PC. Had great graphics and you could even see your caddy on the game..

I'm surprised that no one has named Links as their favourite, so I'll do so now. I find it hard to recall which one in the series I liked best, but I know I used to buy it every year and play it for hours on end. It always felt like a real golf sim made by people who loved the game and the putting in particular was a delight. Offline tournaments were a bit disappointing and of course the absence of fluid 3D graphics made it seem increasingly dated. But I'm still waiting for TW to match it for convincing gameplay.

                    2. Links PC
                    3. Links PC

I've never played anything near the quality of Links in terms of actually being close to actual golf. I remember when course packs would come out and it was like Christmas to me! I made my dad upgrade the CPU as the series went along so I could keep playing. I never got into online / offline tourneys, but I just loved playing the game because it felt so much like golf and at the time the courses looked awesome.

Honorable mention: NES Open on Nintendo. I just remember having a blast with this as a kid, and while the appearance of the game screamed "kiddie" I remember it being a tough game at times.

I pick up TW every other year or longer just because it's the only option and I'm usually jonesing for a golf game.

I remember it as having the best audio I've ever heard in a golf game. The announcing, crowd noise, ambient effects were nearly flawless. The game did have good graphics and I liked having a visible caddy. I thought the game had a clunky interface and a horrible topographical grid.

Lately i have been playing TW on the PC. I thing it is the most realistic golf game i have played.

Links 2004 ... xboxPGA CHAMPIONSHIP 2000 ... PCTIGERWOODS PGA TOUR 2005 ... XBOX (against friends with custom courses) plus, they installed the sun dial, play anytime of the day or night, plus, choose winter spring summer or fall ... it allways looks and plays different. Also, I think the most fun I've ever played against the cpu and friends was PGA TOUR II on the Amiga 500 ... Thats the one that got me hooked on Golf!!Played British Open Championship on the PC ... had alot of fun. For me it was the longest learning curve getting that 3 click swing down pat ... but once I got it, thats when the game really started to shine. None of my friends could play it, the 3 click swing was just to hard to grasp. The atmosphere was awesome!!!!! it really made me feel that I was there playing on these two awesome courses ... also droped a few one hundred and twenty foot putts which was just so cool!! Think I may just pop it in my PC
How come I can't get proper spacing when I write? ... everything is fine until I submit, then it all bunches up ...........yuck

I'm dating myself, but my first golf game was World Tour Golf on PC

                            http://www.mobygames.com/game/world-...lf/screenshots

The graphics were good for those days, and it had a full course designer. The course designer was amazing and you could make just about anything you could think of.

                              Top three in no order:

-Hot Shots Golf: OoB. Really fun to play online and non-gamer family members with the use of the Beginner's "Everyone's" clubs. Lots of personality/never gets boring to play... The courses are quite challenging too.

-Tiger Woods 06 PC... Actually played 04 quite a bit... I love playing Sawgrass in this one. I kind of like the goofy time traveling storyline for the Rivals mode as opposed to the "clear the map" challenges that you have in the recent Xbox 360/PS3 versions.

-Irem Skins Game SNES... First game that taught me how to bet money on golf. That's all that matters.
