If I remember correctly (don't want to mis-remember like Roger Clemens, lol), I tried the workaround while experimenting at some point pre-patch and it didn't work before the patch.
If you play with CPU roster control on, some minor lineup edits for guys like Helton, and use my roster control ON lineup workaround (and with a second controller), it all works out pretty good. I haven't had a problem yet with sim games or games I actually play with all 3 of my franchises. One franchise is stock rosters, one is Knights lineup fix, and one is Ridins with no career stat glitch. All three are working out fine, lineup and rotation wise. But, it definitely has been more work this year. It's not ideal, but at least I can deal with it. The gameplay itself this year is absolutely brilliant overall. Had a 15 inning marathon tonight which is keeping me up late, lol.
FYI: Here's another thing I have noticed. Even with CPU Roster control ON, if you try to put a team on a 4 man rotation (like happens at time especially in the beginning of the year), the CPU "fixes" it back to a 5 man rotation after you exit anyway (it looks correct, but when you sim or play it isn't anymore). So in order to do a 4 man, you have to move your SP1 to the SP5 position and subsequently everyone else which sucks too, but oh well.
