The Next Evolution of Fight Night (focus on stamina more)

I like the degrading block, but let's take this a step further. In a boxing match, ALL Movements drain energy. Notice how a boxers hands are high early in a fight but lower as they take body shots and other punishment, but also by simply MOVING for 12 rounds.

I would like to propose that ducking/swaying and simply movement around the ring should drain a fighters stamina. Of course not as fast as actual punching but it should degrade it. This would diffuse the famous 'Block low and rotate your torso)' glitch that is used by many.

    What do you guys think?

Definitely think it should, and it would definitely make players have to pace themselves. We would have practice when to get on the bike, stay in the pocket, and etc.

What's the block low and rotate your torso glitch? You mean you found one already in the demo?

Yeah, can you get away with it in 4?
Obviously if the block is degraded to a high degree it wouldn't help much.

I doubt you can get away with it in this version. The punches track your target. In RND3 a head punch went high no matter what the situation. In this version a head punch actually tracks the opponents dome piece.

So he can block low all day, when you throw that head punch, your still going to catch em with something barring he doesn't sway out of the way. Aint no more of that block low and lean back. I couldn't stand that **** in Rnd3.

There are about to be alot of pissed off folks, because they aren't going to have any choice but to fight. If they try to just hold block and lean, you're still going to be able to pepper them with blows.

Bang Bang Bang, get ya monkey *** up, lol, that **** dont work anymore.

Yea, you can still catch em with blows even when they do that. Or you can do something similar to what I do, lol. I just back up and stand there until he/she feels like he's done spazzing out. I wont even throw a punch.

we will see in the final build. but i want to get away from the 'start with 20 power' and grow 100. in real life boxers build technique, stamina and conditioning. floyd didnt begin his career weak and got stronger. he started with the same handspeed he has and just got better conditioned etc. roll the dice, make my fighter and let me build the 3 areas i mentioned

Re: The Next Evolution of Fight Night (focus on stamina more)

i think the should work on boxer stances, and have an auto block inputted, what i mean is naturally a lot of boxers have their hands up in a blocked or even semi block position. most punches should be blocked or atleast semi blocked depending on the fighters defensive rating(all blocking styles should be implimented). blocking should deteriorate as the rounds progress also depending on boxers stamina rating, and how man punches are being obsorbed by the block. As your punching you are more suseptable to getting hit and countered. There should be a block button, but the block button should only exist to ensure a secure block during oncoming flurries and when the blocker is hurt, it can also be used to do well time blocks. The more you work on your defense in training the better your auto blocking will be during a fight
I also think boxers need more subtle auto movements in there stances like head swaying slightly, hands shifting in a higher postion as they move closer to the opponent. they should all have there own rythm in each style, some bounce on their feet alot some move therir hands alot.

Great suggestion Complex. I've never thought of that before but you're absolutely right. If a fighter did nothing but sway and bob and weave over and over again, he'd get tired like anyone else.
I hope they add this in for the next game.

I thought it was going to be this way for this installation. I also thought the boxer's movements around the ring without throwing punches would be alot better. Stamina needs to be more effective. And I hope there's an option for speed because it seemed a bit too fast. But I'm assuming, with difficultly levels and the final build, we'll see the actual styles of the fighters.
