To be Honest, I enjoyed knocking the pitch away with my back.

Who is he? Someone from EA. Are they going to tell you it isn't fixed?

Intercepting the pitch is cheesey. How many times in a REAL Collegiate game have you ever seen the pitch intercepted. Knocking it down isn't even that common, but much more realistic than intercepting it.

it's better than having it bounce off your facemask.

I see they have the breakout engine in NCAA this year where you can breakout of tackle animations for more yards. I hope this isnt overdone like it was in Madden 09, where your 170lb RB would be falling backwards, and one slight tap of right stick and he miraculously plunged ahead for an extra 3 yards. I like the idea, but it wasnt realistic when it happened like that. You cant plunge ahead like that without any momentum at all.

Anyone know if this has been tweaked some?

NCAA doesnt look like it addressed its gameplay flaws like speed & OL/DL play. Those vids I've seen looks like a pocket is forming but suction blocking is still in full affect. Still looks very jerky & unrealistic.

                GAMEPLAY.

That's the magic word. I love it. Thanks Russ.

This is correct. Camera has been improved and player lock gives you all kinds of new angles depending on what player you pick.

                    About Defense...

Pursuit Angles, Defensive line tipping passes, Man Coverage, Press/Release (from WR/DB interactions), and Adaptive AI all make a really big impact. I should also point out that players in deep zones (depending on zone coverage rating) will be more aggressive in going after passes.

                    So examples:
                    • Just taking a speed back and running outside does not equal a score (pursuit angles)
                    • "Elite" Corners make a bigger impact between the abilities to jam receivers and simply cover better in Man
                    • Adaptive AI can force you to change up your play calling. I say can because if you are a way better team, all the reaction ratings in the world will not always help the defense
                    • And just more incompletions in general help defense (tip passes and more realistic misses on passes)

If the Running animations/momentum/physics arn't improved it'll still tear down gameplay

Having the proper animations to express acceleration/deceleration are a must............otherwise you'll see guys doing unrealistic 180 spins in D pursuit/WR routes..........

Thanks for the info Russell. Could you please clarify this? When I, and I'm sure many other read things like this, all I can think of are the LB's with 42 inch vertical leaps and teleporting DBs from NCAA 08.

I'm really hoping that NCAA 10 is not the turnover fest that it has been for the last 2 years.

                        Thanks and great job!

Sounds great Russell, thanks for the update. Any chance we can get some more tidbits on how the game plays with the new features? Good work so far team, see you July.

That was the major question I had about adaptive A.I. when it was first announced. This feature sounds perfect now.....Great addition to the game!

The player lock camera angle looks like the Be A Pro viewpoints in FIFA and NHL. Very cool. Seeing the action from the defensive side of the ball, with a little dynamic camera action is nice.
