Yeah, it worked for Madden because it's their cash cow. Their flagship title. I fear the NCAA series won't receive the same treatment.

If Madden is loved this year by both fans and critics as it's looking like it should be, then I see it happening for NCAA too.

Even if that happens (and I hope it does), that still does not excuse all of the whining. Constantly complaining about a product you know is not up to par - only to go out and spend your "hard earned $60" on it is not logical. It makes no sense at all to do this.

I just dont understand the direction the NCAA Team is trying to go. I'll be the first to say, 09 was the best football game since NCAA 07. Online Dynasty saved the day, as it made up for sub-par gameplay. So they have improved the recruiting, and added custom conferences along with a little bowl game eye candy to improve the Dynasty aspect of the game. Ok thats nice, you took the best feature of all time and expanded on it.

Then they give us Team builder, which is what majority of the community has been screaming for since NCAA 07. So once again, nice move, I like this idea and it looks as if they took their time and did it right (so far).

Now we get Season Showdown. A game mode in which we are supposed to show our school pride and play as much as we can with our favorite school and whatever school is best represented throughout this mode wins their weekly matchups or however it goes. Now...this confuses me, what is the purpose of it and was it really at the top of their priority list this year? Of all the things they could have given us, and we get Season Showdown? This is almost sickening!

So they canned the whole "Wide Open Gameplay" gimmick from 09, which we all knew would be a joke, and they give us Season Showdown, another gimmick but this time not a gameplay gimmick. This is no more important than Mini games. Im a much bigger NCAA fan than NFL, and I see Madden trying to replicate simulation football to the best of their ability, while NCAA gives us gimmick after gimmick, year after year.

I've heard these devs say time after time, "we care about the game just as much as you do, we want it to be as realistic as the real game." But they have yet to really provide that experience. These guys FINALLY, come up with a nice feature for the game, and it had minor flaws btw, and instead of really following up on it and improving it more, they give us Season Showdown. Really....is that how you guys feel about this game? Are we really heading back down that road again, of useless features this community or even the non-online community cares nothing about?

Sorry for the rant guys but I feel like I'm losing it, lol! I've bought every version of this game, sadly; because I love college football. I keep supporting this company because I never liked 2ksports at all. I always thought EA was better. even though their products have always been so flawed.

I dont know...maybe I just figured because the Madden guys are trying so hard to replicate the actual NFL experience, NCAA guys would try to replicate a real college football game. We dont get as many gameplay fixes, we get Season Showdown. Im a huge Buckeye fan and I could care less if we finished 1st or last in this thing, I just want to enjoy playing NCAA online and offline.

I really hope oneday these guys realize all these gimmicks really arent what make games great, its the gameplay that makes them playable for longer than 2 months, hence NHL and MLB The Show. Once again, sorry for the rant, I just cant believe we are actually posting here in pathetic anticipation of a Season Showdown update. We never asked for this, or anything like it. Im sure there are hundreds of ideas on wishlist's all over and this isnt one them. How about some actual presentation for this game and utilizing the ESPN license and stop holding it hostage. Its a shame how old games have better presentation.

Exactly. If we wanted to see who had the most "loyal" fans or whatever BS they're going for we could start a poll or some garbage, but if we wanted a football game to play we would buy NCAA 10. It just doesn't seem right to me.

Let's hope next year they don't waste precious time and resources on a stupid gimmick. Imagine if they took this time to add refs, chain gangs, and the missing stadiums. I doubt anyone would be complaining like they are now.

In one dynasty I might but I ussually like to just play in the WAC until I get invited. Shouldn't take to long this year because Boise St. should start with a 5 star prestige. in 09 it took 3 years.

Couldnt agree more. This is what the Madden team is doing and it appears to be working great, i mean i only speak for myself, but im actually excited for a Madden for the first time since Madden 2005. I hate saying it like this, but it appears as tho the NCAA team just doesnt get it. Maybe they just have a different look on the series compared to the view we have.

Yep, I dont think anyone here would be to angry if they gave us a spring game or Army All American Game either, or maybe even a weekly Gameday presentation like how CH2k8 had. The possibilities are endless.

I do know 1 thing, the economy is in bad shape, and I see EA is throwing money away every year on this game and with the people they hired to make it. Im sure there are more innovative people qualified to produce a product without as many flawed, useless, gimmicks every year than the people who are putting this game together now. If EA has to downsize again and the games become in jeopardy, I hope Madden and NHL teams make the cut, because these are the only 2 games EA Sports make that continue to try and give the people what they really want, not some BS gimmicks...unreal.

Can Ian produce this game also? He's the only one who seems to really know how to translate a real football experience to the video games!

No, they were'nt 0-12 the year before last. For some reason I guess I just forgot you guys won it that many times recently. I grew up in Moses Lake so most people there are WSU fans but I moved away from there about 5 years ag and all I can remember of the Apple cup is a UW win other than last year.

Yea man, Ian seems to be like 10 steps ahead of everyone else at EA, definately on the NCAA team. I really believe the NCAA guys have been taught that NCAA should be a fast paced, gimmick game with silly little features for kids.

Sorry my friend. Ian is ours and you can't have him. If he worked on both games. Then both game would be half crappy and half good. I wheather keep Ian where he is and keep geting better madden games every year beyond this year. Sorry but will pass on your thoughts. Ian is already spread to thin as he is trying to make madden a good game once again. BTW atleast for ya'll who cars. Ian did aleast gave ya'll something madden could not share in on because of the legal trouble EA is having with the retired nfl people and all that. That is the Team builder. Atleast Ian spent one year away from madden to give ya'll that aleast. But I am getting both games. So I will get the best of both worlds in the end.
