Simply put, Skills credits are earned by showing off your skills on the sticks. Your ability to perform these skill moves will earn you and your school extra credits. You can’t rely on the CPU to perform these actions to get the credits, you must be the one that got the interception or forced the fumble if you want the extra credit. So if you are using the new Defensive Assist feature, which puts the player you have highlighted under CPU control as long as you are holding the A/X button down, you can let the CPU guide your player to where they need to be, but to earn the credit you will need to take back control of the player and make the play. As you will see in a moment, a majority of the Skills events are defensive based, so if defense isn’t your strong suit, Defensive Assist will be a great way to put you in a position to make plays and earn credits."

NCAA Football 10 Blog: Season Showdown: Show Your Skills
EA has posted another NCAA Football 10 blog. This one covers more Season Showdown.
"Last week we focused on the structure of Season Showdown and touched on a few of the ways you can earn Extra Credits. This week we will focus on one of the three main pillars of Extra Credits that center around gameplay, which is the Skills category.

I liked the videos.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Vid doesn't offer hope, either. MLB's still have hands covered in stickum, OL still doesn't think on screen passes (just look at the FSU-Miami clip), 300+ lb linemen still look like receivers, looks like jumping the snap is still too overdone (and likely still the only way to get a user sack), I've just about lost it.
Blow up the game engine. Take next year "off" and give us a great NCAA 12.Comment

Re: Season Showdown: Show your skills
Boring. SS is a complete waste of our time. Yes a few people will support this new idea. But come on. What does this got to do with trying to make the game more life like and real. I mean give me a break. Ian is over at madden studios doing everything make madden 10 look real aspossible and putting everything in there that you would see on sunday. Why the Dev over here are trying add crap that really doesn't got anything to do with real life college football game. I love the game of ncaa 10. But I will not choose a team for this SS crap. It's a waste of time and not worth the hassel. Postive thing bout this video is the gameplay looks to real good. The bad part of the ideo is this stupid SS feature. One of these days the ncaa Dev team will listen to fans like Ian has. Until then I will try to bear it with ncaa 10.

Re: Season Showdown: Show your skills
I liked how the Ohio State WR didn't get an automatic "catch-up" speed boost like they did last year. It looked a little bit slower than last year which is a good thing.
Overall I liked what I saw (gameplay-wise) minus the bad running animations at the end.
I still couldn't care less about SS but if it's your thing then it's cool.Comment
