This is so seriously lame, I can't even fathom that EA is even trying to make a real football anymore. This new game has almost none of the features that I or the majority of the community wanted. WHY?

I figure it's because they're trying to appeal to folks outside the hardcore community. Season Showdown is a big glossy feature that they can advertise as something brand new that is easy for newbies to understand, where alot of outsiders may not know or care about formation subs. They need a big, flashy product to advertise to casuals, and Season Showdown is it. -

Hardcore community? Even the "softcore" community probably doesn't give a crap about Season Showdown. EA completely dropped the ball this year.

The thing that blows my mind is that Season Showdown doesn't actually ADD anything to the game. All it does is basic arithmetic and add up various things to give you an arbitrary score at the end that is added to your school of choice.
Why was the "great idea" this year (outside of Teambuilder, but I don't really care for CAS) not centered around gameplay, but a math game BASED on the gameplay?Comment

EA has marketed this game to the casual teen to such an extent that it has turned me off like gazing at the once attractive neigborhood girl who frequents the local baskin robbins one too many times. I dread these blogs from the devs, its like what feature are we gonna figure out we don't have this year? Honestly I think ncaa10 (more like hoping
) is going to be better then ncaa09. Team builder is a great addition and add replay ability, but they really need to get their priorities straight bc we get season showdown instead of things like formation subs, dreads, refs an etc.
