Re: NCAA Football 10 Exclusive Interview Week #1
Just to fuel the fire a little bit. This is a quote I just saw from Phil, one of the main guys on the Madden team.
I'll give you a new comment.
Superstar wasn't a focus for us this year. You all have seen the heavy focus on gameplay (Pro-Tak and much more). We've got some big stuff in online that will be announced soon, and Franchise is getting a lot of tuning, bug fixing, and a new show called The Extra Point. On top of all this, lots of time spent on presentation this year. Simply put, we tried to focus on the fundamentals and what is core to the Madden NFL Franchise.
I wouldn't expect any big Superstar feature announcements this year but the feature is of course included in Madden NFL 10.
Phil
Simply baffles me. Each game has done the exact opposite of the other.Comment

Basically you can go through all the formations of your playbook and sub in players for that particular formation. For instance if your primary back is a speed back but you want your lower rated power back in for goaline plays you could set it up with formations subs. Or as Windsocks mentioned, if you want to handpick which players are on special teams, you would do it through formation subs.Comment

FORMATION SUBS WAS IN 09 YOU IDIOTS. WHY WOULD THEY TAKE IT OUT FOR 10? THEY DONT HAVE TO TALK ABOUT IT STFU NERDSComment

Re: NCAA Football 10 Exclusive Interview Week #1
wow your first post and you use it to call everyone idiots. way to make a good first impression! Formation subs were in madden 09 not NCAA 09 and they won't be in NCAA 10 eitherComment

Re: NCAA Football 10 Exclusive Interview Week #1
You're thinking of package subs, which is limited to certain preset options (i.e. flipping wr's, subbing in the backup rb or qb, etc.). Formation subs means being able to go in and substitute at any position as the user sees fit.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 10 Exclusive Interview Week #1
Formation subs was not in 09 and hasn't been since last gen. Sorry if it was already said but when asked the question about random plays in practice mode he completely misunderstood or dodged the question. What we have now is the ability to choose random play from a SINGLE formation or TYPE of play. A TRUE random play feature is when you can click random play and every play in the book is eligible to be used. And for those that ask why this is important, when your practicing and know what the D is runnning against you it doesn't help as much as if it was random and unkownComment

Re: NCAA Football 10 Exclusive Interview Week #1
I really hope Upper Management for EA SPORTS is paying attention to these boards. NOT HAVING FORMATION SUBS... YET AGAIN IS A COLOSSAL MISTAKE. Gamers are turing on EA/Tiburon for another gimmick fest insult to NCAA FOOTBALL (NCAA 10). The developers of NCAA 10 must be held accountable for their misdirection of this title. A once great game has clearly lost its way and it's time to implode the development team and start from scratch. Mediocrity cannot be tolerated. Clearly I suspect that the NCAA team has to see the writing on the wall with all of the backlash for this years game. They blew it; they know it... I guess there's nothing left to say.

Re: NCAA Football 10 Exclusive Interview Week #1
I'd say that when push comes to shove 95% of the people around the Net who are upset will still break down and buy the game day one. NCAA 09 was the first NCAA game I didn't buy, but many people who seemed to be even more upset then I was at some of the design decisions still caved in right away.
Much of OS will be at a fever pitch, with complaining, name calling, and trolling running rampant, but the key part of the equation is that those folks will still have bought the game at retail price.
09 probably had the second most complaining ever(05 is number one) about an NCAA game, and we see what the big focus was for this year.
A serious reduction in sales is the only thing that will(may) cause Luhr to get the gate. Despite not a lot being said about gameplay, I expect the improvements to be strong enough to warrant a purchase from me this year, therefore I not going to whine if things remain status quo seeing as how I will have contributed to the sales numbers.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.Comment

I'm still very excited for this year's game. But other than the defensive line issues, pursuit angles, and slider problems (all of which seem to have been addressed this year) I thought '09 was a heck of a lot of fun. Things like Season Showdown, much like the Mascot thing don't get me riled up in the least because I'll likely just choose not to do it and focus on Online Dynasty, regular Dynasty and Teambuilder, you know, to make those fake FBS teams.I bleed Garnet and Gold. With a random play feature that includes all plays you could be practicing a 3 WR play against a 5-2 defense or a goaline play against a Quarters defense.Twitter: @Palo50
