    Your TV Setup

I'm trying to look at what HDTV is best for the PS3. I'm looking at a 32" something and preferably under $600. What is your tv? and How does the Show look on it?

I have a 37" vizio I got for 799.00 when 07 came out. I actually bought the TV just to play the show '07 in high def and I was completely blown away. Now with '09, '07 doesn't even compare LOL. I'm sure you can pick up a vizio 32' for around 6 bills. In fact I found a link to ao good one.

I play on my PC monitor. A 24" Dell S2409W, which does 1080P and has HDMI. Looks great with the show, although, you do need to run the audio to another source. got it for $249 on sale a couple months ago.

Also have a 46" 1080p sharp TV, but don't use that much with the ps3.

Bought on sale for $900 at Best Buy last April.

Looks absolutely amazing on this TV.

I play on a 52 inch RCAwith 1080i, but I get lots of jaggies. It doesn't look good at all. It's a projection tv, could that be why I get the jaggies? To get rid of all the jaggies I have to play on 480i.

I have a 32" Envision tv. Looks awesome! HDMI as well. Eventhough 1080i i believe is the highest it can go, but still looks crisp!

Also the projection tv.. my friend (the one whom i bought the tv from for 200 i believe) has one and the graphics doesn't look as good for the games. LCD is the best choice if you want to play games on.

Quick question...anyone who plays on 1080p, do you get the cutscenes in lo-res, almost blurry-like look? I have a SONY XBR6 32" and the game looks gorgeous except for the cutscenes...

I play it on a 46" Samsung DLP. Looks amazing and sounds amazing through the Sony HT-CT 100 soundbar and subwoofer.

Anybody know a good tv for under $600? That has both amazing picture for television and MLB the Show.

                        Re: Your TV Setup

If your biggest concern is how The Show will look on your TV, Panasonic makes 720p plasma sets near the $700 mark. (I know your budget is $600, but thought I'd throw this out there anyway)

You don't need 1080p for this game, since it natively runs in 720p. Plus, 1080p doesn't become an improvement until your TV is over 50 inches in size, which you probably won't be at your price point.

Save some money and stick with 720p, and go with a trusted brand. I have a 50 inch Samsung 1080p plasma that I love, but Panny makes great sets at lower prices. I also can't say enough how much I prefer plasma over LCD. I have both. Plasma will save you a few bucks nowadays over LCD anyway.

I think it is a misnomer when people go through the trouble to cite the 720p talking points. What people fail to realize is that when you get a 720p set, not only is your TV incapable of 1080p, but 1080i as well. 1080i is literally, figureitively, whatever way you want to look at it --- sharper than 720p. Compare an HD sports broadcast on Fox (720p) to NBC or CBS (1080i). Which one looks amazing and which one doesn't? Coming from standard def, yes, 720p is great, but this is something to consider.

I have a 32" Samsung (LN32A450) in 720p that I'm really happy with. The picture looks great for both the PS3 and HD television, even close up. I got it for $600 here in Canada a few months ago, and I saw a similar 32" Samsung going for a bit less than that at a Best Buy on a recent trip to the U.S.

Before this television, I had an LG 32" for a day. I returned it because it had a dead pixel in the centre of the screen, but the overall picture quality was inferior to the Samsung.
