I don't understand games like this at all?
It gets to the point if I like skateboarding so much and want a board like experience I'd grab a board and hit the streets.
This game should be an epic flop....but i bet it wont.
The me me me kid generation will scream for mommy and daddy to get it.
I'd love to see it flop as well. Activision needs a kick in the groin.Former Bison, Argonaut, TSN and Sportsnet employee.

Add me to the list of people hoping this game will flop epically.
Exactly. This is such a limited use peripheral. $60 for a controller that works with one game? That's completely absurd! Terrible move for Activision, and I don't see how this doesn't blow up in their face.Activision is really going all in with the peripherals. They've got Guitar Hero, a DJ game, and now this. But damn, Wii Fit is only $90.
The game even requires you use the board. Guitar Hero didn't require the guitar until World Tour, and by then, the genre had been established enough for people to know what they were getting. There's also more than one game to use your guitar or drums with.Green Bay Packers | Milwaukee Brewers | Bradley Braves | Wisconsin Badgers

Re: Tony Hawk: Ride to Sell For $119.99, Are You Interested?
Here's another thing I thought of.
With the music peripherals, not only are they playable with multiple games, but it is very easy to get a bunch of people together for local multiplayer action. How many people are going to want to buy a second $60 controller for this game (assuming anyone actually buys the game at all)? Activision is completely missing the point of innovative peripherals here, IMO. A lot of what the Wii and games like Rock Band have been able to do is explore social gaming in a new way. I don't see this game doing that.
And I still can't believe there isn't even an option to not use the special controller... they are really limiting their potential market with that move, IMO. Sell a non bundled version, and then if people like the actual gameplay, maybe they'd be inclined to upgrade to the special controller. I feel like Activision would have a much better chance of moving units by going this route.Green Bay Packers | Milwaukee Brewers | Bradley Braves | Wisconsin Badgers

Wow - I remember seeing a preview for this game and thinking it looked cool - but that's way, way too much.Comment

If you are actually intrested don't bother if you have hardwood floors or shaggy carpet:
"The carpet onstage, which wasn't luxuriously thick by any means, made keeping the board totally flat difficult, so if you have some seriously plush carpet, using Tony Hawk Ride's board is going to be frustrating, I suspect. And you're not gonna wanna play it on hardwood either, since slamming the board back on end to jump is going scuff it up like a warm of dogs on steroids ran through your living room."
Overall seems to have negative impressions and it's frustrating: http://gizmodo.com/5277953/tony-hawk...-killed-myselfComment

Yeah, everything I read made it sound like the board makes the game suck, not better. If you are actually intrested don't bother if you have hardwood floors or shaggy carpet:

And I'm not surprised. This is what happens when you try to pigeon-hole a special peripheral in a game where it really isn't workable.Green Bay Packers | Milwaukee Brewers | Bradley Braves | Wisconsin Badgers
