What LBz said is right on -- there needs to be a tighter, quicker forming pocket. And against the run, the dline stunts need to actually stunt and slide based on your call.
Also, the reason the running looks so stiff is because the running backs lack transition animations and realistic acceleration.
They should take the handoff and gradually get up to speed, with route-running-esque transition animations to show this. Instead, the runner gets the ball and immediately stands up like he's all alone -- seemingly at full speed after only a couple strides.
