boy, this is what happens when I work at night, I show up in the morning to 74 pages already on this thread? wow.

So, I'm sure everything has been said before, but let me reiterate.

Tom Hammond needs to be fired. He is TERRIBLE. Listening to that video makes me already not want to play the game.

The new look was neat, but I would be wasting my time if I turned into a fanboy now, why does the Dallas corner run right past McNabb? The rest of the video could be gold, but that part right there sounds off alarms.

Was he just being moronic, or is that a gameplay issue we should ask to be tuned?

The kicking meter is the same.

It looks good, and I can't wait to see what they took out between plays, but I don' t come away feeling great about this.

i know why some people are upset and others still hopefull.......

but i saw exactly what i expected a game updated to match this years nfl rosters.

EA did not promise a revamp engine and unless they do that the guys are doing their best with their current BASE ENGINE.

whether the final product will be fun or not we cant tell from 2 mins we will either shell out the 60 or rent.

i am a solid gamer i would never say" its only a game" because its one my fav hobbies now that i have a family so some of us have high expectations and demands. but its gonna be rough on some fans i hope yall get your anger out now and continue gaming playing what we have.........

If it was on All Pro it should be forming faster. That's supposed to be the more realistic level. Secondly the DE's are engaging way too early and they are slow getting up the field. (That might be the results of the plays called.)

That might be it ; none of the game play vids that we've seen have shown the pocket during clear passing downs(3rd and long)where the dline is pinning their ears back and getting after the QB. They're all in situations we're the defense has to play the run and the pass; that could be why the DEs and 3-4 OLBs are engaging so quickly.

How can you not be optimistic about Madden 10 with all the changes we have seen so far ? Even the 2K5 fans are seeing some positives.

I feel for Ian and his team at times. It is impossible to please everyone. So many complaints even though there are so many positives.. It is clear they are trying their best to make the best possible game and that they are taking our criticisms to heart.

As long as they improve the game and make it more of a sim rather than a quirky arcade game I will be more than happy...

i think I figured it out (for me)

it's the camera position

....i want it closer to the field of play...they have all these pretty players/animations but it's too far away to appreciate them.

I agree I hope there is a zoom camera angle. I don't care if it customizable or not, just closer.

I agree I like my camera a little closer ( tough on my old eyes ). But isnt this one of the reasons why players always roll out ? One, to avoid the rush and the non existent pocket and secondly, to be able to get a better view of your receiver along the sidelines..

Granted this is just one isolated example, but in the real still shot the pocket is roughly the width of hash marks, maybe a little wider. In Madden, the pocket is almost twice the width of the hash marks and probably contributes to the problem of it taking too long to set up

Let me also piggyback on this. Moegames it's not simply the size. The bigger problem is the speed. The DE's engage way to early. They don't run an arc. It's more like the OT determines where they are going to be able to go. This might partly have to do with the plays that are called. But it might not.
