Just like your concluding that the game is not going to be good, I'm concluding that it is going to be greatness. Same difference. We can agree to disagree at this point.

Don't misunderstand me, I can't conclude yet whether the game is going to be good or not.....I DO have doubts, but will take a wait and see attitude.

I DID see some serious issues in the video (which concerns me because you would THINK they'd only want to show the good points)...however, my post was more in response to Ian getting pissed off and claiming he's taking a break from here until after release.

I have my doubts too, but watching and reading all the blogs, I don't see how anyone can say the game hasn't taken a big step in the right direction. Ian never said this would be a 1 year process. I think people who can't recognize that and give props are just haters. You don't have to buy the game or like it, but why waste your time with the negative comments that don't bring anything to the conversation but more fuel for the haters.

Also imo Madden has never been a game where you could see the difference in videos. I always had to play it to appreciate it. People invest way too much time and energy into analyzing these videos.

I don't know why he would post that comment on his Twitter to begin with; but to come back and visit the forum--after claiming he was going to take a break, knowing the type of drama that comment would cause--just seems cowardly to me.

Would the newly re-added sliders fix many of the problems in the video. Like lower run block would fix the gaping holes, and lower pass block would help the pass rush, maybe forming more of a pocket? The speed slider could slow things down a bit. And if we globally lowered acceleration it might stop them from going lightning fast from a standstill. I think the tools to fix this stuff are provided.

Potentially they could.....IF the sliders actually work (IMO, some sliders really didn't have much effect in the past) some gameplay issues could be resolved. However, they won't fix OL/DL interaction, or the ability to turn on a dime.

I HOPE this years game will be playable without having to do ANY global ratings changes, those were always a pain in the arse to me.

I think it's going to take another 2 years to address the momentum/physic, route based passing, and animations/rendering (frames/missing animations). And that's only 'if' EA steps up and admits they have a problem with their animation/rendering engine and makes it a goal to provide a better one. Thus far we have no indicatiion they are willing to do so.

I don't see EA changing anything..If it aint broke (in their eyes) why fix it...Madden will eclipse prior record sales this year no matter how bad the game may or may not be. How can you convince people to radically make a change when the same formula is working so well year after year???

Madden is the McDonalds of videogames...Not nearly the best burger but they are consistent for better or worse and they will sell more copies of the game than they have ever sold before.

There is no doubt in my mind this game will be the best Madden we have ever seen but at the same time for those of us who were early next gen console adopters its been 5 years now and we are still talking about Madden needing 2-3 more years???...That baffles me. It also baffles me about the turnover we ahve seen in the Madden development teams...Why so many different faces in such a short time???...Stauser, Ortiz, Cummings???...All of these guys had ups and downs...meanwhile the game sold more copies than any other game in its genre and we continue to wonder when we will finally see the game we hoped for since 2004 before we bought 360's for that 1st Madden.

I hate to say this but I feel like Madden 2006 felt more like a new game than any other version we've seen since. I think the game had many shortcomings but they were on the right track if they could have stayed with that dev plan...But the pressure to make Madden feel like Old Madden was too great and here we are again.

Most are not happy with it. I'd say I am a little disappointed but overall Ive seen a lot of good things in other videos . So Im not going to get all crazy over one vid where Pro Tak wasn't even functional..

I am fairly sure the game will be leaps and bounds better than '09 and thats all I can ask for.. Improvement..

Yeah I agree. Locomotion needs to be worked on. Players still turn on a dime...

But the thing is though that that vid had a lot of stuff cut from it so we didn't see everything. Also, the game's difficulty setting is on pro, and as stated by Ian, the difficulty settings (rookie/pro vs. all-pro/all-madden) will be VERY different in play. Also, this is the new head dev team's first year this gen with madden. We can't base how much can be done from here until the game goes gold on how in it was at the same time period for previous years since there's different people in the head making the decisions.

I can't wait for more recent vids to come. I'm hoping we could somehow get an all-pro/all-madden vid of the game...

That explains why the QBs had so much time.

I made a compare 09 and 10 thread but got locked??but I gues I' ll do it here heres a early build of 09 with the panthers and later with the jets.

The locomotion is better still needs some work if you look at the deangelo run and compare it to the westbrook run, there not turning on a quick dime like people are claiming, The line has changed even though I'm starting to think there not gonna be any double team block so I guess will see, The biggest improvement that I noticed right away is that the wrs are planting there foots on there route running instead of just turning twitching like 09. Also no more spinning catch.

The run animation even though improved a little needs to be be scaped next year, I know they said there gonna overhaul there locomotion and borrow fifa. Honestly if you can't see the difference I don't know what to say, I'm starting to think people want madden to fail from the geko, its like a cub fan who can't wait to see how there gonna get disappointed in the playoffs, they do need to work on momentom more 2k had it good sometimes a little to much was forced.

The game has improved and it is obvious. The expectations for this game are high and will never be met in my opinion. For me I will pass judgement until I get my own hands on the game. Though everything I see is positive and has me excited.

Thanx sage people need to breakdown what they don't like and stop whinning, esspically the play when the db is blitzing and misses is target pretty bad and its pretty obvious its user controled which I don't mind so I don't know how you can complain about it. Now if the db was running at the same speed and was able to turn or twitch on a dime and sack mcnabb then I would have been pissed , so I'm actually glad he over pursuited and blow pass him like that.
