    Left 4 Dead 2 (360/PC)

Guess I should make a thread for this. Again, I'm very surprised to see a sequel so early, as it's very unlike Valve, but whatever can't complain about more Left 4 Dead.

    E3 2009: Left 4 Dead 2 Hands-On

Now it might seem unusual for Valve to be rolling out a sequel to Left 4 Dead so quickly; after all, the original game shipped on November 18. The sequel is due out on November 17, almost one full year later. However, Valve's Chet Faliszek (known almost universally in the industry as just Chet) told us that when they finished production of Left 4 Dead last year many of the developers had ideas they wanted to pursue for a sequel. And since Valve employees get to choose their next project, it quickly paved the way for Left 4 Dead 2.

Here's the quick summary: Left 4 Dead 2 will feature five new campaigns, as opposed to the original's four. Each campaign will have support for four-player co-op, as well as Versus mode and Survival mode. There is one new gameplay mode that is not being revealed at this time. There are four new characters, new weapons, entirely new melee weapons, and new items. On the flip side, there are new zombies, new special zombies, and a bunch of new gameplay mechanics designed to disrupt many of the tactics and exploits that players have discovered in the first game.

Looks good to me. New naps, new guns, new special zombies. Another new mode we don't know about yet. Count me in!

Sounds good to me. I'll buy it. With MW2 coming out around the same time, this might have to wait until Christmas though.

Completelty shocked anyone would come out with such a quick sequel to a game that is still so alive, especially online. I mean, they just re-released it with the new content.

That being said, hell yes I can't wait.

I'm gonna be all over this when it comes out. The roommates and I still play the original religiously.

I'm anxious to see the new special infected, including this "Charger" thing.

The graphics on the PC version, which I'm assuming is the one they captured in those IGN videos, look to be improved. I wonder if the 360 version will receive a similar upgrade.

Between this and MW2...this is going to be yet another expensive fall.

Did anyone else catch what seemed to be a nice Arrested Development reference: "Are you really going to shoot the guy with the $100,000 dollar suit? Come on!"

                  November 3rd- Bioshock 2
                  November 10th- Modern warfare 2
                  November 17th- Left 4 Dead 2

I'm sure this game will be awesome, but I think its going to have to wait a bit for me to get around to it.

                    Re: Left 4 Dead 2 (360/PC)

With games like Burnout and GTA 4 having longer lives with DLC, it seems kind of odd to see any sequel like this so quickly.

I hope it isn't just a way to charge $60 for content that could have been DLC. L4D has been fighting the good fight and hanging onto the top 10 in xbox live activity, and it could have used a boost of DLC in the form of new campaigns like this.

If you've played and enjoyed L4D there is no WAY you are passing on this when it drops. I can't wait.

Yeah.. I said I might wait until Christmas with MW2 coming out a week before, but I will probably just get it as an early Christmas present.

I highly doubt that they could've added all the things they're adding (melee weapons, new infected, etc.) through DLC...so I really don't mind.

I got my money's worth out of L4D and still play it off and on. I don't blame Valve for putting out a sequel at all.
