Re: You have to get salary cap in Online Franchise

In the Pasta links Josh said the offline franchise is basically the same as online. I can't imagine they took it out for offline so I would think it would be there for online as well.

Unless, Josh was just talking off the cuff and was incorrect that they aren't both the same. The only thing he said that was different was that online is limited to 10 seasons. Which I think is kind of low.

Really, so you're going to check and make sure that everyone's FA signings fit under your pre-set cap? And you're also going to calculate and keep track of cap hits for the next year when players are released and trades occur? Sounds like a good time!

Uhh, you just release someone from your team to clear enough cap space to sign someone else... I don't understand why that wouldn't work?

Yes, managing your cap is a HUGE aspect of franchise. If you get into cap trouble you can release someone to clear space. Lets say you need a HB to complete your roster, but can't afford even the cheapest bum in FA... Lets say you have the minimum amount of players at all the other possitions... well its time to sacrifice.

Release that LG that is making 2 million this year and pick up a HB for 1 year 1 million salary and a replacement LG for 1 yr 1milion salary. There you go, you are now managing your cap.

It's been a huge factor for those of us that have been playing the game on the PC or on the PS2. Just because the NG systems were deprived of a correctly functioning cap, don't assume that everyone else was.

i wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't in. How would it work? Especially since co-op is only for two players against the cpu. But i could be wrong.

Did the producers say 'Its your game, you should be able to play it how you want'?? If 4 buddies want to make 4 superstar teams, why shouldn't they be able to?

thats what i was thinking. if anything have it in and obviously only simmed. but i really have no other idea how to play it out. i just want to still be able to label my players as "pro bowlers" at the very least.

What they should do is have the top two rated coaches in each conference play the Pro Bowl. Just like real life....

What about voting for the pro bowl can you vote for other teams players or is that all cpu controlled like in offline franchise?

No, what they should do is let you play co-op online. Maybe even throw in a player lock-option for you to control the players that made it from your team.

Aren't the Pro Bowl coaches the coaches whose teams lose in the AFC and NFC Championship games? That's what I thought, anyhow.

Why only 10 years for OF?
