While I'm checking members teams and rosters, I'll check there salaries too. Problem solved.

Really, so you're going to check and make sure that everyone's FA signings fit under your pre-set cap? And you're also going to calculate and keep track of cap hits for the next year when players are released and trades occur? Sounds like a good time!
Uhh, you just release someone from your team to clear enough cap space to sign someone else... I don't understand why that wouldn't work?
Yes, managing your cap is a HUGE aspect of franchise. If you get into cap trouble you can release someone to clear space. Lets say you need a HB to complete your roster, but can't afford even the cheapest bum in FA... Lets say you have the minimum amount of players at all the other possitions... well its time to sacrifice.
Release that LG that is making 2 million this year and pick up a HB for 1 year 1 million salary and a replacement LG for 1 yr 1milion salary. There you go, you are now managing your cap.
How so? Please explain.
It's been a huge factor for those of us that have been playing the game on the PC or on the PS2. Just because the NG systems were deprived of a correctly functioning cap, don't assume that everyone else was.
