What the hell is wrong with Zazzali???!!!

I'm in my third year.
I won the Superbowl in year two with Future 50 Mike Zazzali at QB.

Now in year three I've had to bench him 3 or 4 times in 10 games.

I can think of 3 games where he threw 3 interceptions in the first half, once he had 3 interceptions in 6 passes, all in the first quarter!

I don't get it.
I've still won all my games. Last night I had to bench him in the 3rd quarter, and my 95 POT backup came in and won the game in dramatic fashion. 1 second left and he tossed a 30 yd TD to Audray Bender (my Rookie WR), and then in overtime we got an interception for a TD. I'd start my backup, but in some of the games I've put him in, he threw 3 interceptions too!!! That's right 6 interceptions in 1 game, yet I still won, barely. I've won with 4, 5 and 6 interceptions thrown. What the heck is wrong with my passing game???!!!

Zazzali keeps throwing wild passes, and sometimes doesn't even go thru his reads and throws into double and triple coverage. I don't get it.

Thats a good question. I have Zazzali in my third year also and he avgs at least 2-3 interceptins a game. Does your Headcoach, QBs coach and O Coord have good skills in regards to passing (eg QB Readiness ect)? Mine are avg so that might be the problem.

Did you get LT Oshinawki (spelling)? Is he a stud?

Haven't gotten to the Oshinawki draft.
I'm only in my 3rd year, 2nd year with Zazzali.

I'm going to trade up for him, because I can't run the ball to save my life, and I think another lineman might help.

As for my coordinators, My QB coach Dick Curl, ha, is rated 99, and can't improve any further. However, a lot of his skills are maxed at level 3 or 4. My offensive coordinator is in the 60s I think. And has room for improvement, but looks to be a pretty solid at QB skills, and my Head Coach is also around 64, and a lot of my skills are for the QB, but nothing higher then a level 3 or so.

I don't get it because last year with the exact same staff he was amazing. This year, he's lobbing lame ducks all over the field. I'm wondering if it has something to do with my QB coach not improving. I have like 20,000 points to spend on him, but he's maxed out. I don't understand why he can't raise a level or two if he's such a great QB coach.

the other weird thing is, Zazzali is being picked to go to the pro bowl even though he averages 2-3 picks a game, and only about 1 or 2 TDs. Last year he was throwing about 4 TDs per game, and only about 1 pick per game.

The other problem I'm having is EVERY game I've played in has either been in snow, or rain. I'm on week 11, and all 10 games have been played in bad weather, usually with a lot of wind too.

What the heck is that???
I'm playing as the KC Chiefs, and I live in KC. It doesn't rain and snow that much here, especially at the beginning of the season.

It's driving me nuts.
Last night I played at San Francisco and again it was raining. I don't think Zazzali can pass worth a damn in the rain or snow. Which sucks because I can't get my team to run the ball at all.

Did you keep Larry? I'm in the same year with the Chiefs too and he's running like a beast. 1000 plus and 10 plus TDs the last two years. He was even out 3 games last season. I sim too.

The Bears took Zaz with the first, so I got Waddell. Zaz has been MVP the last two seasons.

Yea I think weather playes a factor. Im the Saints and in the dome his numbers are noticably better. Last night I played in Tampa Bay and it was storming and he had 4 picks.

I have a rule that I play in no more than 2 rain games per season. The weather is way too random on the game and not realistic. Also no snow games till at least the end of November, after that anything goes.

Also no bad weather Superbowls.

Usually don't have to reset very often.

I didn't keep LJ. I can't stand him. and didn't like his contract. So I ate the cap hit, which was fine because I was like 30 million under.

If you sim the games, the running is much better, but I play all my games. I don't have a lot of running plays because I picked the Patriots Spread offense. The running plays I do have aren't great. It took me a while to get a lot of them mastered, and I think my problem is the ones that do work for me, I use too much.

I've noticed plays that you use more then 3% of the time don't work well. Which I think makes since. My HB has a potential of 93, and is rating 86, but he sucks. He runs backwards most of the time instead of thru big holes - even on mastered plays. And my blocking is really bad too. I have blockers run right by defenders letting my back get leveled for 4 yard losses.

On a side note, Waddell is better then Zazzali. You can get another good QB, Waddell is a once in a lifetime player.

That's a great idea. Can you just quit the game and reenter, or do you have to quit, and go back to a previous save? If so, how far back do you have to go? If you save on gameday after the Inactive player notice will the weather still change randomly?

Maybe its just your system or your play calling if both qbs are doing it

Dane Marrow did a similar thing. I tried to put up with it for a while, but got tired after a couple seasons. He just took a dump and wasn't playing well at all. I traded him to the Jets and he took them to the Super Bowl the following year.

Yeah I have to reload the previous save till the weather is right, it will change randomly.

So I have apparently began "the demise of Zazzali" period. I have him starting in his 3rd season and in my game in week 2 against the Bucs, he kept throwing at the WRs feet or above their heads. He ended up 12-39 and at one point threw 9 straight incomplete passes. He also threw 3 picks.

The weather was fine but it seemed like the passes he would be off on was mostly crossing patterns or posts. The hitch he would throw low but was a catchable ball.

The first 2 years I had him he played great. If this doesnt change I will be unloading him soon. I don't have much patients for mediocre QBs with huge contracts.
