Could this be a ruse by EA to get more people to buy Madden to boos their numbers in order to convince the NFL that their game IS getting better based on the number of sales...

With all of the talk of lawsuits and all of the bitterness that the exclusive rights has spawnned... Making a bad NCAA game to get more people playing Madden makes sence...

Last year's NCAA really out-did itself. I'm sure the people at the NFL took note and asked why so many more people were buying/playing NCAA, then were playing Madden...

As a result, EA resolves to better Madden's numbers to get the bean counters to see higher ratings, higher sales, and more participation in what is not only supposed to be EA's best football game, but THE only NFL game on the market...

Why would a franchise want to take such a drastic step back?

The rosters have sucked EVERY year. Part laziness by EA and part due to the fact that the game gets released very early.

Now if another company picks up the license they better have Online Dynasty.

I may be in the minority, but I think many of you are looking at it wrong. NCAA 10, by all accounts, will be NCAA 09 with a few additions like TeamBuilder, Season Showdown, and school bands.

If this is the best the game is going to get for a few years with all the uncertainity over Sam Keller's lawsuit and the exclusivity license, then that is all the more reason for me to buy it this year. That way, assuming future versions will not be up to par, I can rely on a great community to keep me updated on rosters. With all the different possibilities TeamBuilder will afford, I can see the replayability of this title lasting me for a few years.

The biggest question I have had with EA games the past 4 years concerns the lack of ESPN integration. If they forked over all that money to buy the rights to ESPN, why not use the license to the fullest extent? ESPN graphics alone would exponentially increase the presentation value of their titles, an aspect that seems to be what everyone has been clamoring for (and Madden has tried to acquiesce this year, but still failed to use the ESPN license).

With the Teambuilder site being available a month before the game comes out, a dedicated roster builder could put together an accurate enough roster by launch. (though it maybe difficult to add and replace 1 team at a time).
I'm pretty sure that you cannot edit TB rosters and then export them to your 360/PS3. I think you can create your own school by using an existing school's roster as a template and then export that created team to your 360/PS3.

In short, TB cannot be used to edit roster files.

                      This wont amount to anything.

Worst case scenario is that we get an Ohio State QB named "Tyrone Pritchard"

No, it cannot be used to edit roster files, but it can be used as a template to help whoever is doing the roster file once the game comes out. If everyone edits a couple teams then whoever does the roster file can just search their name and base their rosters off of the teambuilder editing. We might as well get started now, since these rosters are likely to be final

Kellwer-gate aside, i would have zero issues with a generic roster. I mean i sim 2-3 years as it is now, so by the time i get to the year i begin playing, most rosters are COMPLETELy different anyway. The EA locker would give us real rosters from the community which are much better than ANYTHING EA could/would EVER do.

I dont really see any downside to this at all. Am i missing something?

                                What???

Now that you mention it, there is a 12 team limit. So at most, you could make 'authentic teams' in Teambuilder, replace the existing ones in Dynasty and then use those. But only for 12.
