    How good we have it...

    PS3 Ncaa Football 2008

Did anyone else buy/play this game?

I just pooped it in(i meant to say that) to see what it looked/felt like and if it was as bad as i had remembered.

    It was.

Starting off, the Menus while shiny and neat took at times upwards of 3 seconds to respond to any input...meaning if you wanted to get to the rosters, or dynasty mode...you were going to need to wait.

And once in the rosters or dynasty modes...More slow menus....Slow menus that loaded into a slow game. Blocky players that can only turn at right angles running at a blistering 30 frames a second.

It was the worst game i have ever purchased, okay i'll take that back...it was the biggest disappointment I've ever paid 60 bones for.

Now, 09 was not a perfect title by any means, but at least i could cycle through the menus at a comfortable clip, and i didn't feel like 22 refrigerators were taking on 22 deep freezers.

But looking at the progress that EA made in that timeframe gives me some real hope that 10 will be another considerable step up for the title....Will it be perfect? What is?

But i'll tell you this..... i KNOW it will be better than ol Jared Zabransky on PS3

That is true. Sometimes people forget the progression we have made. Forget about 08, if you bought 07 for the 360 you were looking at only 50 real stadiums, animations that didn't make sense and a terrible framerate at 30FPS

Things are definitely headed in the right direction - no question. But I think most people thought by 10 (the 4th version), we would be much further ahead.

NCAA is better than Madden im saying it...Maddens Online Franchise is half done and this is why:
      1. its only ten years...
      2. NO Salaries
      3. No Salary Cap
      4. No CPU trade logic
5.So you can get all the players you want and they stay with you forever
      6. YOU CANT IMPORT DRAFT CLASSES!!

Plus the Halftime show shows regular plays. 1 and 2 yard runs..in a 35-14 halftime score.

At least NCAA team gives us a full feature. I would rather have windsocks and no refs than a half done feature with a bunch of good looks.
Comeback can happen...thanks to EA Sports!

I think most people would rather complain about nonsense they can't control as opposed to enjoying what they are getting. Why be appreciative when you can complain about every little thing that a video game doesn't include in it's release?

I think it's possible to appreciate what you have, but at the same time, be disappointed in what is not had. I think there are some elements that they could have implemented and just didn't. That is disappointing to me. But overall, the game is still pretty good and has gotten better year by year IMO (and I'm assuming 10 will be better as well). But that doesn't mean I'm completely happy with the product.

Did your mom make a new batch of haterade today? There were no big plays because they super simmer like 90% of the game

They both blew. A lot of it for me is how we still don't have things that were in last gen, and the fact that both games had issues that would have happened light years ago. This series has regressed, minus online dynasty. The fact that they brag and claim greatness for correcting their idiotic glitches like talking transfers and draft prospects into staying as major ongoings for 10 are cheap. They act like fat kids on speed and get all excited pumping up 10 and its not even for anything new. They're trying to sell an inferior product and will try to make everyone believe it's great. Typical salespeople. It's still apparent they have no idea of how the game is supposed to be played.

                I agree.

And why should we be appreciative of a series that has underwhelmed every year in the current gen?

Re: How good we have it...

I don't get the whole complaint about not having things in this gen that were in last gen. It's not like they can just copy and paste the old feature into the new feature.

                  Playmaker Football on the 386 had a play editor!!11!! Why doesn't NCAA 9.3552 have a play editor??!!1!??

When you start from scratch, you start from scratch. Graphically, nothing could be ported from last gen to current gen. Things take a lot longer to create in this HD world than it did even 5 years ago. Player models have many, many more polygons than they did on last gen. Everything is expected to look "picture perfect", and if it doesn't, it's not acceptable. That's great, but it makes it so that things take a lot longer to implement. Anyone that has done any type of graphical programming has a good idea of why long hair still isn't in this game. If they don't want it to look like crap, it's going to be a beast to put in.

Not only that, but it's funny to see people tear apart features. If they re-add something from last gen, the response is "big deal, it was in last gen". If it's something they don't think THEY will use, they say it was a waste of resources. It's a lose-lose-lose situation.

OK. Threads about everything not related to the game are getting highly annoying and cluttering the threads. Although it is good willed, let's be serious, this isn't necessary. No need to try and put your positive thoughts on others who clearly don't give a damn about what you think.

                    If you like it, cool
If you want to bitch about it, cool

                    Just stop cluttering the forum!

                      QFT.

NCAA 09 had problems, but it was way better than 07 and 08. If the passing/pass defense and OL/DL issues get taken care of it will be an easy nine, not to mention with TB and custom conferences.

I just dont see how you EA Troopers can excuse these games not even having the stuff we had last gen? What is your logic with paying $300 plus for a new system, $10 MORE for games that are NOT AS GOOD AS WHAT YOU HAD?

Why would I buy a new car for $40,000 and be happy if it ran worse than my old car which was paid for?

Bro i absolutely love NCAA Football but i will not put my foot in my mouth and say that it is better this year than Madden!
there are ways around the weak set up of Maddens Online Franchise i am sure. such as:

                          1. ok 10 years right? well the Comiss can run it for ten years or a couple years before and then take it offline, and then convert it back to ONLINE and invite all players back for another ten years.... there now that prob is fixed

                          2. if there are no salaries for any USER team then all is fair for every user, maybe not realistic, but every user has the same advantage

3.this could be a problem, but hey so was NCAA player logic when you would have players transfer after winning major awards such as HEISMANN??? for not keeping every promise

                          4. not necessarily if your team is not winning games, im sure player MORALE will go down

                          5. Im sure the Comiss could take it offline and upload his and bring it back online, but what do you expect? if you have 12 users in a single franchise, every user cant upload a class, there is only one draft class every YEAR! maybe the comiss can cycle and take turns uploading a diff user's draft class every year and bring it back online lol idk

All in all bro, i am thankful for my ncaa and i WILL be purchasing 2010 as soon as it releases but do get ahead of yourself by saying it is better this year than madden
