Who are some other players that were supposed to be busts but ended up being as good as their combine measurables said they would be?

Players who "had bust written all over them"
So I was reading NFLdraftcountdown's draft reviews and I got to the Cards grade. In it they mentioned how the Cards "hit a homerun" with Dominique Rodgers Cromartie. As I read it, I thought of how many different sources said that he was a bonified bust waiting to happen. This brought me to his cousin who had the same knock on him that he was a clear busts.

Well I think alot of people called Chris Johnson(titans) a bust. -

LOL.
You missed a few more. Buster Barnett, Buster Maddux, Buster Mitchell, Buster Mott, Buster Rayborn. Ruster Ramsey, and Buster Rhymes. Just getting them out there at once so we don't see them filtering in slowly. When rookie Randall Cobb was told by this U.S. Marine that he was a big fan of the wide receiver, Cobb said, “I think I’m a bigger fan of yours.”Comment

Re: Players who "had bust written all over them"
Well, Mario Williams comes to mind. He was labeled as a huge mistake by plenty of experts since he was picked over Reggie Bush (you know, that injury prone situational player we're all still waiting for to "change the face of football."
).
After a somewhat slow start, he's been quite productive (26 sacks over the last two years).Comment

Re: Players who "had bust written all over them"
Can't remember his first name, but the the McGwire quarterback that went to Seattle looked like a bust from the get-go. I think he was Mark McGwire's brother if memory serves. First rounder that did absolutely nothing.Comment

He also came to mind for me. I remember how everyone thought taking him first was a mistake. Now, he's one of the best defensive lineman in football.Well, Mario Williams comes to mind. Re: Players who "had bust written all over them"
Too late for a worst pick ever. He already took a team to the playoffs.
I can think of some that did end up being busts:
I think Bey is the guy this year, actually the Raiders have several. McFadden, Russell, etc.
Mike Mamula was a big one too. Troy Williamson, Vernon Davis, Peter Warrick to name a few.
Mario Williams is the epitome of the opposite of the aforementioned. I also thought the pick was bad at the time. Me=wrong.PSN: JISTIC_OS

Re: Players who "had bust written all over them"
So you're gonna be one of those guys that say "oh he's still a bad pick. He's only succeeding because of a great O-Line." "Anyone can win with those receivers!" etc etc?
Anywho, I know a lot of people were "WTF?!" over Posluzny when he was picked by the Bills a few years back but he's been a pretty good defensive player. He was probably a bit of a reach but he hasn't been a bust by any stretch of the imagination.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club
