I guess the this naive approach is definitely wearing off. Until I can ensure that every single play looks 100% identical to a real play in the NFL I should probably just stop trying.

The problem is that you cannot make it 100% identical to a real play in the NFL, and that is perfectly fine, because it is real life vs. a video game. I think that you are doing a fantastic job, and like I said you are a better man than I am for you to keep on coming to OS.

I swear people on here would use their TIVO to pause a real life game, and say "Hey that shouldn't have happened! That ball surely couldn't have been tipped around like that and then caught by the CB. Man Roger Goodell needs to fix that animation!"

The game isn't going to be perfect. Is it replicated NFL football? No. Is it far and beyond what Madden 09 is? Hell yes.

But the most important question: Will Madden 10 be fun? I think so.

very nice. i notice alot of good things in the vids. i love the crowd noise this year. i also like on the screen play to johnson he didnt turn and back peddle to catch the ball as in madden 09. the recievers do a great job this to catch the ball in stride.

like how mason in video 2 tried to make a sideline catch. it was nice to see the new animations.

the passing is well done . the timing in the pocket seems fair.

protak is awesome this year.

Just noticed Keith Bulluck's red gloves. Sweet. Also noticing a few HORRIBLE passes by Flacco, also pretty sweet. I'd like to see a little more push from the D-line. I feel like you take away a couple of those big plays and we have a whole different ball game. I think the CPU AI should play a little more conservative in their pursuit of a speedy back like Johnson.

Missed field goal, cool. Like the improvements to the QB sneak.

The bolded part is EXACTLY what i'm thinking... if the Defense played a little more conservatively.. the entire outcome would seem more realistic... maybe the poor defenses will take more chances and give up the big plays... but Ravens and Titans shouldn't take un-needed risks...

I have confidence in you IAN!! haha I think with a couple tweaks here and there this game will be LEGIT.

Oh and don't worry about the people complaining about the size of handwarmers and stuff... lets get this game of football as accurate as we can before it ships...

This argument is kind of unfair IMO...dozens of issues that plagued Madden are no longer there and you don't mention those at all. We're doing the best we can, moving towards a simulation experience. I've heard "Rome wasn't built in a day", though the team and I are sure trying our best.

Not really, perhaps I missed it. But anyways, I'm certainly not trying to dissuade you from posting these vids up here at all. And I'm not going to judge the game in full at all until I play the final product. The TD after TD scoring in a would-be defensive game scares me, yeah. But maybe the improvements will be obvious after playing the game, esp the final product. I've been into NCAA the last couple years, but the only way to slow the offense in those games is to use awful teams and really mess with sliders. I hope that isn't Madden 10, especially with the advent of Online Franchise, so many possibilities there.

Regardless, thanks again for the videos. It's making things fun here. And, most importantly, you're certainly creating a buzz around this game that we haven't seen in a long while. Like I said, I'm hoping the game lives up.

Was fatigue turned on for this particular game? I don't recall seeing any substitutions, particularly by running backs based on fatigue. Did I miss it?

Hey Ian do you think in future maddens you could have players coming up to the refs and arguing. That would be kinda cool as an extra cut scene.

Please tell me blocking logic is on the list for 11. When I questioned it a few months ago after the blocking improvements were unveiled, whether the logic was actually redone or if it was just new animations and such, Ian blew me off and acted like I was an idiot for asking that. Now, its obvious the logic is either the same or maybe redone, but equally as broke. Blockers running the wrong way in relation to the play, acting lost, ignoring guys in front of them, etc.

Id be more than willing to provide detailed feedback to help fix this issue for 11 if necessary. So dont take this as a bash, Im just really sick of terrible line play. It destroys the game. And I want to play a FUN game!

I am one of those people that have not bought a Madden game in years. I think the last one I bought was 06. The one thing that worried me was the amount of offence in this game. I remember last year I hated the robo QB. I think there were too many big plays for two very good defences. I do appreciate all the interaction in the forum and I think its both productive for your team and for the consumers. This interaction has led me to for the first time in a long time consider buying this game. By the way can you please post a video with the zoom camera.

I love the panic button approach around here.

I just played a game as the Patriots against the Steelers and rushed for 40 yards on 18 carries and passed for 125 (8/18).

I really question why the hell I spend all day doing this stuff only for people to freak out.

You have to keep in mind that even the most vehement complainers are still guys who will buy the game and get hundreds of hours of fun out of it. I know like 99% of everyone here really, really appreciates the approach you've taken to this game and all the hard work you put in. And the game looks like potentially the best one since 03 (my personal favorite) and maybe even the best ever. Just keep your head up and take the constructive criticism from the smart guys here to help make the game even better in the short time left before development finishes.

The bottom line is, when this game comes out and all the positive feedback and great reviews roll in, all the hard work and listening to us complain (some valid, some silly) will have been worth it.
