Re: NBA Finals: Orlando Magic vs. Los Angeles Lakers

      A) Just because you hate a player, doesn't mean you're a "*****". I hate Kobe Bryant with every bone in my body, every muscle in my body, with an immense, ridiculous passion that I can hardly articulate. That doesn't mean I'm a "*****", because the difference is that a "*****" will bring up ABSURDITIES and never acknowledge positives, or give him respect.

      B) Isn't Finals MVP supposed to be a "playoffs" MVP? If it's a "playoffs" MVP, then the argument could be made much easier that Ariza should be the guy. He was in the right position to capitalize on horrible inbounding by the Nuggets, everyone keeps leaving him wide open INEXPLICABLY and he KEEPS knocking them down. He's been doing things that have single-handedly kept the Lakers in the playoffs.

Ariza has made HUGE plays for the Lakers but to say he is the MOST valuable is crazy as hell and anyone that would say something like that deserves to get their head flushed down the toilet.
        Concrete evidence/videos please

does anyone have video of an interview with Phil Jackson during the 1st or 2nd quarter of game 4 where he starts saying how the refs were making bogus calls? I thought it was hilarious the things Phil was saying during that interview.

I knew you'd bring that up. Because you never listen to the whole argument. You pick the pieces you want. Typical cebby response.

In all of Chicago's big games during the Jordan years, how many last second, dagger playoff shots were hit by his teammates compared to MJ's total? Kerr is one. Even Pip, Kukoc, Grant, Rodman, Harper, etc didn't have 'em. Jordan took the shot almost every single time. That's why he's a closer.

Uhm, Kobe is arrogant no doubt, but hes not the the most arrogant. That crown belongs to Shaq.

                  Go Lakers.

Sheesh..maybe they'll sticky another Kobe hate thread that will run on the top of the bball forums for an entire year. That was some good entertainment there.

I'm not saying he should be named MVP, far from it. I'm saying that it's not outlandish to give him consideration as a true definition of "MVP" if you're considering the whole playoffs, considering how many times he's come up as the hero.

How about the horrible percentage he is shooting? The guy missed over 20 shots! Thats the best basketball player on the planet? Sorry not buying the hype! Anybody can score 30pts a game when you shoot 30 times! I have been pleasantly surprised by his willingness to pass more late in games. However this could really be a sweep if he did'nt revert to old Kobe and try to go 1 on 4 and get blocked by Hedo. I personally feel a guy like Gasol is the reason they are poised to win a title. Anyone who follows basketball knows they were not title contenders until he was traded/stolen from Memphis. But we all know Kobe will get it because like most of these awards it is a popularity contest. Anyone else notice late in the game the Magic were actually doubling Gasol and leaving Kobe open? I thought that was telling. & he continued to hoist up 3pt bricks keeping Orlando in the game when they were doing everything they can to give it to the Lakers.

they should split the mvp trophy to Gasol kobe and ariza probably they could do it last year for pierce KG and jesus. manu timmy parker. if you miss one piece of them they would collapse.

What shooting guard has shot the ball better than Kobe Bryant in these playoffs? Who has a better FT% Who is passing better.

John Paxton in 1992 versus the Blazers. That's the only other one I can think of off the top of my head.
