Re: Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 10 Impressions (PS3, 360)
My putting isn't that bad, but I'm yet to break par in about 10 rounds with my golfer who has abilities in the high 70 ranges. Had a couple of low to mid 70s scores but haven't made the first four or five cuts on Tour yet.
I really like the greens in this game though, you can tell a difference from one course to the next.Comment

Re: Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 10 Impressions (PS3, 360)
Put in some good hours tonight and I'm hooked now. I need to work on my putting, as that was what kept me from being competitive in my first career tourny, but its a lot better than I thought it was gonna be considering how rusty I was.
EDIT: GAH!! I cannot put in the rain, lolLast edited by bjf1377; 06-13-2009, 03:40 AM.Comment

However, when you sink a 50 footer on very fast greens with meterless putting in Tour Pro mode, there's nothing in the history of Tiger Woods console gaming comparable to it!Duke Football? Hell yes it's Duke Football! --- Coach CutcliffeComment

Stay with it! Go into "Practice Round" in your Career mode and hit putt after putt. There's a loooooong learning curve for putting, especially meterless precision putting like I've been exclusively using since day 2. I haven't had a round yet where I didn't at least have one 4-putt green. I quite often have a 5-putt green. These all come as a result of hitting the putts too hard, which is easy to do without the meter.

This goes really to anyone that is a big fan of Links 2004.
Thanks in advance.#WeAreUKComment

Re: Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 10 Impressions (PS3, 360)
Well I shot a +14 at today's online tournament, my best round yet lol. It actually wasn't that bad, if I could take four holes out of my round, I would have been at +1. I just need to cut out the bad holes.
I'm finding it easier to swing with both thumbs to keep the ball straight. I feel stupid doing it, but it seems to be the only way I can keep the ball from going out of bounds four times a round.
It's a really addicting game, it's just frustrating because for some reason it's taking me forever to figure it outCo-Commish of the OS Vets I & II

Thanks for bringing this to light. I would like this better, like the hit stick on MLB or NHL games. Is this in the options?Comment

I did that as well feels more comfortable to me plus I play NHL 09 and shoot with the right stick so that could be a reason."If you don't have anything good to say, say it often"- Ed the sockComment

The thing is, those announcers just replaced Feherty and McCord (last year?). In other words, that's supposed to be a newly-implemented improvement to the game. Puzzling how anyone on the development team could have listened to them and thought the new announcing was better than what was in the game already.Comment

Re: Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 10 Impressions (PS3, 360)
Cheapest would have been to recycle the old commentary and leave it as is, rather than hire a new announcing team. So I can't see that as being the reason.Last edited by baa7; 06-13-2009, 06:18 PM.Comment

Re: Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 10 Impressions (PS3, 360)
I can make my stick movement match the swing of my golfer in Tiger Woods 10, but I'm not punished when I get quick with the stick. I like the way it feels when I've stayed in synch with the golfer during the backswing and foreswing because there is a hint of inertia to the animation.
Overall though, I find the shotmaking, particularly the short game (pitching chipping and putting) to be more versitile than Links 2004. This pretty much negates the natural tempo edge that Links 2004 has over it.
I'll say this much; I've had Tiger Woods 10 for 5 days now, and I can already say that I'm more addicted to it than any game I've owned since NCAA Football 2004 on the PS2. I can't pass by the Living Room without doing something with it. I'm way off schedule on my chore list because of it I was six months late to the Links 2004 party (it's the game that drove me to buy an XBox, as a matter of fact!), and although I was hooked on it... it just didn't have the incredible sense of connectedness and play options Tiger 10 has.
I also think that the Wii version will have an even bigger pull on me than the 360 version. A thumbstick motion is such a scaled down way to simulate a golf swing. The Wii Motion Plus, even though it doesn't track swing path, has way more potential to make your senses feel involved in the game. I can't wait until I can afford the Wii in August. I think it will have enough of a relational and active interface that my wife will want to play it. She absolutely hates controllers, as we know them.Duke Football?
