    1. same as the Saints, Reggie only catches 70 balls a yr on avg out of the backfield and Brees only led the NFL in yards...the Saints use the short yardage passing game instead of the run game just like the Pats

2.They gave up fewer sacks than the Pats in 07 as well, you know the year Brady threw 50 tds.

    think before you post

You're missing the fundamental point of the post. As stated above, sacks aren't completely on the O-line. A lot of it is on the QB, schemes, and/or other players.

The Patriots went from 21 sacks allowed in '07 to 48 in '08. Do you honestly think that is all the o-line?

neither of us realized the Pats did as well in their RBBC last year after Brady went down

anyway,my point is in 2007 when Brees and Brady were both healthy the Pats still gave up 75% more sacks than the Saints...of course, sacks arent the only way to jude an oline..but when you throw the ball almost every play(as the Pats in 07 and the Saints in 07,08) and only get sacked 13-16 times, it should count for something...should it not?

            Sacks Allowed 2007:

            Patriots: 21
            Saints: 16

That is not 75% more....it's actually right around 24%.

i mustve mixed 07(16) and 08(13)..either way..compare the ratings of the Olines..its not funny how they messed over 1 of the 3 most prolific passing offenses in the NFL

now, if you can just explain to me how a 4th rnd rookie LBer has a higher speed rating than every corner( at least 1 of whom ran 4.3) on the roster, and a receiver known for his speed(also 4.3 guy)
how is this possible?? and how/why the heck are people defending this nonsene.???
and understand, this is just my team ive looked at .. its probably messed up across the board

I think everyone has a beef w/ the ratings, however I kinda feel like your making this out to be a way bigger catastrophe then it was

I was wondering what you guys think of rookie late round picks coming in higher rated than players that have been in the league for some time, example: C Painter 62 R Bomar 62 is better than Carr 60 Sorgi 47 Troy Simth 59 Brennan 49 and guys like Brunell 62 & Harrington 63 who have not played for a year are better than some of the guys I have mentioned.

I know it is only a few points but NFL experience has to count for something. Troy was going to probably be the starter but fell ill and there is a 22 point diff from him and the starter Flacco

As long as progression is fixed I guess we dont have anything to worry about

a few of our receivers could have been rated a little bit higher, and same with robert gallery but other than that it looks about right.

With the revamped ratings system and having players more spread out, I think it will be great. I'm just taking it for what it is.
                      .
I'm thinking it's going to allow for true subbing for specific situations. If they are in fact spread out ,each player regardless of overall will have their own areas of strengths.
So possibly instead of always just making sure your hightest rated overall player is in the game, you'll have to dig a little deeper.
So there may be times you actually have a player rated a little lower overall that simply fits the situation (or team philosophy) better..

That's how how looking at it anyways.. Hope I'm right.

I had to try my best not to post a pic of John lenon after your comment lol. I have a ton of issues with these ratings trust me. They shafted a ton of people so im thinking in my head, ton of shafts = good ratings? hmmmmmm.........

And i think everyone is focusing too much on the actual number ratings. I cant sit here and criticize the ratings because i dont know how they actually play. Just my 2 cents.

Not sure if anybody mentioned this but they did say before that speed is all relative. Pat white at 87 speed i believe it was is going to be slower than a corner who has 87 speed. It's done differently by positions, from what i understand. Some confirmation from Ian would be nice but i swear i've heard them say this. And it would make sense because for example:
                              Vince young 85 speed, 4.58 40 yard dash http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dn_Fu...eature=related

Jared Cook 85 speed 4.5 40 yard dash

Nick "Why did you cut back" Harper 80 speed 4.58 dash time
LOL damn nick harper doesn't really have any highlights but i'm sure you all remember him in the colts steelers playoff game.
