Slipping in Bad Conditions?
How often do actual NCAA players slip in bad conditions... I would say close to never being that one of the first things their coaches teach them is to take small steps during cuts as to reassure that they will stay afoot so I ask... really? But I guess it is somewhat realistic as to the physics of the game, being that the running animation looks like they're playing a marathon game of "Simon Says" and they take 4 foot steps...Tags: None -

they rarely slip thats why they take small steps during cuts... so they don't slip...Comment

Re: Slipping in Bad Conditions?
Yeah, I rarely see players slip. I've been to several Nebraska games in bad rain and snow and don't recall anyone just straight falling down like the NCAA 10 receivers do. Of course I know it has to happen occasionally, but I think it's fairly rare. Although probably on natural grass (a dying breed) players are more likely to slip because of the mud.Comment

Re: Slipping in Bad Conditions?
you can control your steps and balance all you want but you cant control the surface beneath you. sometimes youll see players change cleats during a game, slipping occurs. i doubt ncaa 2010 is saying its going to be players playing on ice.Comment

Have any of you ever played football in the rain/snow because I have and I don't recall slipping once and I ran a 4.5 40 time so it wasn't a matter of slow momentum...Comment

Re: Slipping in Bad Conditions?
yes, and yes. your not going to slip every single play and I doubt it'll be like that in the game either. grass fields and the old astro turf are easy to slip on, the sports turf/field turf is harder to slip on(at least to me it was).Comment

Re: Slipping in Bad Conditions?
They might as well make it where you slip every play so we can at least one new animation for the game this year! hahaComment

Re: Slipping in Bad Conditions?
what a ridiculous thread. it's shocking how far some are willing to go in order to bash this game that's not even out yet.Comment

Re: Slipping in Bad Conditions?
I never said it was going to be a horrible game just bringing some attention to an area that really didn't need any attention to be brought to in the first place when they could have focused on some other animations... if you're going to introduce slipping into the game you shouldn't tout it as one of you big new features...Comment

Re: Slipping in Bad Conditions?
Step size has little control of whether a player slips or not. It all depends on the spot on the field you step and how wet it is. I don't know what kind of football your referring to.Comment
